im wondering how much of a dip G has noticed in their search volume because we arent running thousands of searches per second with SB .

But why would they pass the google part of the proxy tester, work with the scraper, but fail with the competition checker? I'm speaking generally too, I know that each proxy has a 'shelf-life' before its banner from google.

Yeah, there appears to be something up again. Can't use proxy checker at the moment, so thought I'd test loading up another instance, but got an error.

Please don't go this road. Or you make the tool more expensive or you have to unlock the tool from your servers. And for life = what? As long as the SB servers are up, so for life is not really for life.

Because the competition finder uses google queries as well. Different queries from google have different ban rates. For instance Page Ranking checking might be banned for an IP and advanced operator search but not basic search, etc... I have a vid here on that:

I would say that "Major" down times is an exaggeration. As of this moment its had 90% uptime for the month of august and over 99% up time since Feb of 2010. Of course if you authenticate the tool while a server is up it stays running till you close it or till it crashes.

111:111:111 - "cook"
222:222:222 - "cook"

Because proxies which passed this test would work with the competition checker right?

Hmm maybe your right. Word to the wise, you might actually read a couple of posts above. I mean Id guess 500 posts have been posted about this issue in the past 5 days.

That I don't know, I mean I don't know of a proxy checker that does that specifically. "generally" if a proxy passes google it should work for the competition finder unless your using and advanced operator. However google does ban proxies super quick now days, so if you are talking about public proxies you can literally test a group and then immediately retest the google passed and see half of them fail.

So its probably that the proxies are working in the proxy checker but are banned before you get them to the addon. Of course there could be 10,000 other people trying to use them all at the same time.
