Waiting on some bugs to get worked out before buying subscription. I think Mandom has some really valid points, but depending on usage this is still a highly valuable plugin. Would be nice if this was tied to TBS API. Make life a lot easier.

For those on the fence, I have to say you should hold off on getting this plugin. In my opinion, it's not complete in its functionality and what is there isn't working correctly.

The basic function works great: you set it to auto and it creates a new post for each incoming search term and automatically redirects it to whatever page showed in the SERPs for that term. That is great, in theory. Unfortunately, as we all know, Google doesn't always show the correct page for the correct term, particularly lately with all the crazyness going on.

Ideally, you should be able to go to the auto-created post and change the redirect location. To me this is basic functionality that should have been added from the beginning. Apparently the creator doesn't agree and originally said this wouldn't be added though today he said it might be added in a month or so.

Ok, fine. It's his plugin. I can do the manual work and go in and manually 301 the pages that are wrong, not convenient but doable. Right? Wrong!

Even when I permanently delete the auto-created post and manually 301 it to the correct page it's still pointing to the wrong page. Somehow, some way, the plugin has made permanent changes to my database that I have no idea how to fix. I can't delete the posts because then I'll get 404s since they've been indexed. I can't manually redirect them because it won't go to the correct page. So basically now I have 1500+ pages of content all pointing to the wrong places. Lovely.

When given my initial example, the OP informed me it's because my category pages are being indexed and I need to change that. However, I don't see why it should matter what the initial redirect page was since the auto-post, and its auto-redirect should have been removed from my DB.

So, I have provided another example of a search term that is directing to the home page while it should be pointing to an inner page. Same problem, I can't change the redirect. Certainly I'm not going to no-index my home page so I'm looking forward to the next solution.

Sorry for the rant but what it boils down to is this: This plugin is not ready so I would not recommend purchasing it until until ALL functionality is in place and you know for certain that it's possible to change the redirect for the auto-posts whether it's manually or through this plugin. I figure I'll give it a couple more days until they find a workable solution and then I'll be asking for a refund and trying to figure out how to fix the huge problem this plugin has created on my site.

BTW, here is the basic functionality that this plugin needs to have to be viable:

1 - you MUST be able to change the redirect for auto-posts either manually or though the plugin. If this is not implemented then this plugin is pretty much worthless unless...
2 - you can turn off the auto-posting mode and only use manual posting. Implementing this might make this plugin viable for some.
3 - cloaking and the 301 delay should work concurrently, it should not be either/or.
4 - change posting date to either current date or past-dated.

Nice to haves:

1 - a list of keywords, separate from URLs, that have had posts created for them
2 - the ability to delete URLs from the link list so you can pull them off to backlink to them and not have to figure out where you stopped last time.
3 - keyword blacklist so you can indicate keywords you don't want posts created for.
4 - add auto-tagging
5 - add link indexing tool integration so newly created links are auto-sent to tools
6 - allow the ability to self-host articles which can be uploaded through the dashboard
7 - change it to a one-time fee. I just don't see the justification of an ongoing subscription
8 - add the ability to choose which category new posts go into, not just default to uncategorized

I know the OP wants to keep the plugin simple and that's great...as long as simple works. At this point, simple does not work.

Mandom,

I was in the middle of replying to your PM. But since you felt the need to discourage anyone from buying this service in my sales thread, I will reply here.

You have three different redirection plugins running on your blog (including KE).
You were three versions behind on KE, when I already suggested that you upgrade but you didn't do it. It's OK I upgraded for you.

After I upgraded your software, I created a test post and made sure the redirection worked properly, It did.

Then I took the example post that you sent me. You had already deleted, it, so I removed it from the OTHER 301 redirect plugin.
Then I used auto-post to create the post with the same keyword and redirect that you used initially. That all worked perfectly. I checked the cloaing with three different computer/browsers. A-OK.

We have over 1000 sites using this plugin, and we only get a couple tech support requests per day for this product, so please don't assume that everyone has the same issues you have.

So basically now I have 1500+ pages of content all pointing to the wrong places. Lovely.

I just did a spot-check on about 20 of your Link List pages. Out of 20, none of them linked to a category page. They all went to the intended Permalink destination OR were redirected to home page. So I believe that saying 1500 of your pages are pointing to the wrong place is simply an exaggeration.

Sorry for the rant but what it boils down to is this: This plugin is not ready so I would not recommend purchasing it until until ALL functionality is in place and you know for certain that it's possible to change the redirect for the auto-posts whether it's manually or through this plugin. Mandom, I don't want to lose a customer, especially after I took the time to personally record a screencast for you to demonstrate some features/functionality; But you are clearly unhappy with this product and I would gladly issue you a refund if that is your wish, and I don't want anyone's money if they are unhappy with my product.

You can manually fix the issue you are having by just deleting the post (and delete from trash), and using auto-post to manually create the page to the URL destination of your choice. I just did this. It works.

And as for the 'huge problem this plugin has created on your site'. Keyword Explosion uses your organic traffic to build targeted posts the the pages that are ALREADY getting traffic. Your category pages were getting a bit of traffic, and Keyword Explosion captured the incoming keywords to these pages and it increased traffic to those pages. This is exactly by design. We have no way to know whether a webmaster wants traffic to category pages or any other page. It simply creates content-rich pages to increase traffic.

We have added several features since we introduced this product, and we will keep adding more to make it better and better.

Best Wishes,
Brian

Guys, can you please explain the Link List more.

How often does it add articles using this feature.

I dont see any cron jobs.

When should i expect keywords/articles to show up in the Link List?

Thanks

And, had you actually responded in the PM I'd have known you responded instead of assuming you were ignoring my request because you never sent a message. Some people don't hang out on BHW that often.

You have three different redirection plugins running on your blog (including KE).
You were three versions behind on KE, when I already suggested that you upgrade but you didn't do it. It's OK I upgraded for you.

I have two redirect plugins working. One to manage incoming 404s and one to manually set 301s. This is pretty standard. I was unaware I was behind on the plugin. Thanks for the update, even though it didn't fix the problem.

After I upgraded your software, I created a test post and made sure the redirection worked properly, It did.

I never said I had a problem with manually created posts. My problem is with the AUTO-posts created by incoming search terms...and IT STILL EXISTS. Since I don't use the "plug in a list of keywords and spit out a bunch of pages" function it is not something I'd tested...until now. Perhaps the confusion is that you call the process of manually entering keywords and creating pages for them auto-posting? What do you call it when posts are automatically created from incoming search terms?

Then I used auto-post to create the post with the same keyword and redirect that you used initially. That all worked perfectly. I checked the cloaing with three different computer/browsers. A-OK.

When did I ever say there was a problem with the cloaking? I don't care about cloaking. I wouldn't even be using it except for some reason your plugin won't use the cloaking function if the delayed 301 function is being used. I think this is dumb but since I was getting traffic to those auto-created (by search engines rather than manually by me) pages so I had to turn off cloaking and do manual 301s.

And AGAIN, this has NOTHING to do with posts that you create manually by feeding in a keyword and setting the URL you want it to point to. This has to do with the post that are AUTOMATICALLY created from incoming search terms. With those, you CANNOT change the redirect URL even after deleting the post.

Just to verify, I did a test following your methodology. First, I deleted a post that was pointing to my home page vs the correct internal page and recreated it using the manual creation method. I pointed it to the home page as it was originally. Then I deleted it. Out of curiosity, I went back to the page I had deleted and *wow* the 301 redirect was still working!! Shouldn't I have gotten a 404 error since that page should now no longer exist? Not getting a 404 error but instead continuing to encounter the 301 your plugin created pretty much proves that it's made some sort of permanent change to my database which isn't being removed when the post is being removed. But, I continued on...with the same result - the post was redirecting to the wrong page.

So, I decided to test further. I deleted everything that I'd done in the previous test and created (using the manual method) a post for the initial target keyword. This time I pointed it to the correct URL. Unfortunately, when I tested it, it STILL went to the home page as it was initially automatically created, not to the correct URL I added when manually creating the post. So yeah, even using the manual method you still can't change the 301 of a page that has been created.

We have over 1000 sites using this plugin, and we only get a couple tech support requests per day for this product, so please don't assume that everyone has the same issues you have.

I'm not assuming that. I'm assuming that most people haven't tried changing the 301 location of their posts. I'd be interested in hearing from anyone who has or has not done this successfully in which case I will assume that my standard wordpress install is somehow different than the 1000 others this is running on.

I just did a spot-check on about 20 of your Link List pages. Out of 20, none of them linked to a category page. They all went to the intended Permalink destination OR were redirected to home page. So I believe that saying 1500 of your pages are pointing to the wrong place is simply an exaggeration.

What does this have to do with the category page? It just so happens that the first example I gave you pointed to a category page. Your solution was that it was a problem with the category page being indexed so to prove this is not the case, I provided an example of one that is pointing to my home page when it should not be. YOU may be ok with all of your traffic funneling to your home page and your visitors then having to find the specific information they're looking for themselves rather than taking them directly to what they want, but I'm not. I actually want my visitors to be taken directly to the information they're looking for. All those pages pointing to the home page shouldn't be. Most of them should be pointing to internal pages but YOUR PLUGIN WON'T LET ME CHANGE WHERE THEY'RE POINTING and that is a PROBLEM!

Mandom, I don't want to lose a customer, especially after I took the time to personally record a screencast for you to demonstrate some features/functionality; But you are clearly unhappy with this product and I would gladly issue you a refund if that is your wish, and I don't want anyone's money if they are unhappy with my product.

I would like to keep using the product, IF I can change the 301. If we can't figure out how to fix this then I'm going to have to stop using the product and, in addition, I will have to hire someone to manually go into my database and fix all the incorrect redirects your plugin has created. Yay! That should be both fun and expensive!

You can manually fix the issue you are having by just deleting the post (and delete from trash), and using auto-post to manually create the page to the URL destination of your choice. I just did this. It works.

I just did it too and it doesn't work. It continues to redirect to the intial URL even when I manually create a post pointing to the correct URL. I'd be happy to do some kind of screen viewer session with you so I can demonstrate what I'm seeing since we're either miscommunicating or we're seeing something different for some reason.

Again, this has nothing to do with category pages. This has to do with the fact that once your plugin has created a URL for a keyword the 301 initially created can't be changed. I don't care if the initial 301 link is pointing to my category page, my home page or the pie in the sky, if I can't delete it and change it, that's a problem.

So, again, I'd reiterate my earlier post and would recommend that people not use this until this issue is dealt with. I'd love to hear from other users who have perhaps tested this (changing the automatic 301) to see if they're experiencing the same problem or if it's really only me.

BTW, I decided to test this on the other sites where I have the plugin installed and they're all the same. Once a 301 is created by your plugin, it can't be changed or deleted.

Uhm Mandom. I suggest that, instead of ranting and trying to ruin a good product in this thread, you just stop using it. This is not for you... I have used this plugin on a site of mine and it worked fantastic. There are so many options to use this plugin, if you can't seem to find a way to make it work: stop using it and stop complaining. It's annoying.

I want him to fix the fact that this plugin has created over 1000 pages on my blog that can't be deleted or changed. I don't think that's over the top for a request. Have you tested/verified that once a post is created you can delete it and it actually goes away or you can change the 301 if you need to? I'd love to know the results if you have. If this problem is only with my blog I'll gladly quit bitching (once he tells me how to fix it). But if it's not only with mine, aren't you at least a little concerned that the plugin might be making permanent, irrevocable changes to your website?

ETA: I did try to stop using this plugin by the way. However, when I disabled it, the cloaking was removed so the spun content was being shown to visitors. So, until I have the time to go in and manually delete and 301 1756 posts (plus all the ones on my other blogs), I am forced to keep using it. Even redirecting to the wrong page is better than showing spun content. I had the 301 date set to 0 because I wanted to use the cloaking option. I've changed it and I'm hoping that it'll take effect but so far it hasn't.

I think this is a fantastic product (IF IT WOULD WORK!!!). I'm having a different problem where mine won't redirect at all. All of the links to the posts it has created just get 404 errors when clicked on. I've PM'd a couple of times and asked nicely in this thread for help with no response. Given that it's summer I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that he may be out of town. But for a paid monthly service I would expect much better service than this and would expect the dang thing to work. I'll be trying it on another site of mine this weekend to see if I get better results but so far I'm a little frustrated.

It's a very unique product though so I really don't want to cancel. I just want the dang thing to work.

DO NOT use the plugin if it's not redirecting, unless you want to be de-indexed.

STILL NO REPLY FROM OP......I've sent multiple PM's and posted here for the past week or so.

I created a new site today and loaded up some custom articles. It still put the crappy spun content on the site though. Not sure what went wrong there. Please advise. I created 10 articles in notepad format and then put them in a folder and zipped it. I uploaded the zip folder just like it asked but it still used the unrelated spun content.

By setting "days to redirect to 0" and clicking on "cloaking", I was able to get the links to redirect properly so that's good. BOTTOM LINE is that this plugin has big potential but has lots of bugs to be worked out and the service has been horrible so far. Not what I'd expect for a paid monthly service. Hoping for a better outcome in the near future.

Yeah, the service on this plugin is pathetic. There is no excuse, even if the OP IS on vacation. You don't just bail without notice, particularly if there are ongoing issues.

All the articles posting in my blogs are non related and complete garbage. Look at the sample

Blog post below, just read........

"
If you are your youth soccer coach of a team that will plays 8v8 consider a 2-1-3-1 soccer formation consisting of 2 Fullbacks FB a Stopper E 3 Midfielders MF and a Targeted Forward. Other 8v8 sports formations are discussed below.
A 2-1-3-1 soccer formation has several positive aspects-
- Four layers of players which will help your self on both offense and also defense by giving an individual more depth over a 3-2-2 soccer formation a 2-3-2 soccer formation or other three-layer formations. A 2-1-3-1 soccer formation is strong in the Center involving the 2 goals thats critical for recreational soccer teams and the further depth will lessen the number of easy targets and breakaways that your crew gives up. You should throw in the towel fewer goals by using soccer formation.
A dedicated Target Forward who continues to be Pushed Up towards the Halfway Range when your goal will be under attack and also shifts from side-to-side together with the ball so he or she is in position to earn cleared balls.

This too has the advantage of maintain opposing Fullbacks from pressing onto your half of the sector and give you a breakaway risk for fast counterattacks.
space If you put a very strong player on Center Midfield CMF and a strong player at Stopper it can help you control the centre of the Field which is vital.
- You can place your weakest participants at Right Midfield and also Left Midfield and even vulnerable players there might be in a position to help slow down problems by the opposing team.
space A Recreational football team that has strong participants at Stopper CMF and Onward should be competitive.
An advanced youth soccer trainer in any of the 8v8 soccer formations you should consider-
- It is crucial for you to have bold Fullbacks. You can play painstaking and unskilled player at FB as long as he or she is brave which enables it to clear the ball therefore you dont Push Up your own FBs past the Penalty Box line. If you Push Up your FBs to the Almost Line they
need to be rapid.

Just checking back in guys. Sorry for the delay.

Mandom,

You do not need to keep subscribing to our service for the plugin to keep working. Just leave the plugin active and delete your membership or remove your registration email. Everything will still work (redirects) -but no new posts will be created. As for your posts that 'can't be deleted or changed'...We have been over this twice via PM. Just use one of the 404 redirect plugins to send any 404 pages to your home page. It is a couple of button clicks and you are done. The plugin is STILL bringing the traffic to your site.

Your issue was caused by your category pages ranking and getting a bit of traffic. It only takes one 'click' for KE to create the post for the keyword that was incoming for your page (your category page). KE did what is was supposed to do, and it took the pages where you were already getting traffic and it created posts to boost that traffic.

I replied to your PM a few days ago..and I just replied to your reply tonight.

I want him to fix the fact that this plugin has created over 1000 pages on my blog that can't be deleted or changed. I don't think that's over the top for a request. Excellent Question dmn99-

The content we use is highly spun. I have seen it produce better articles than the one you just shared, and I have seen it produce worse. It is spun content intended only for getting the post indexed in google. If you set your options right (redirect, cloaking, etc), your real visitors will never see it.

Hey guys,

Schwagoo did respond to my questions and I was able to email back and forth with his I.T. guy to get a few things resolved. Here's what I've discovered:

* Be sure to test this plugin NOT on your money site. Just redirect the posts where you want them to go from any old WP site that you don't care about. I've created a couple that are somewhat related to my money site title just to improve CTR.

* I was having some issues with the posts not redirecting when using "www" in front of my redirect link. I changed it to "http://" and left the "www" out and it's redirecting fine now

* I suggested to the OP that they allow more than 100 posts to be created at a time and he said they are working on an update that may allow up to 250. That would help. Please keep us posted.

* It is true that the content is absolutely terrible. If you click the cloak checkbox and days to redirect to 0 your visitors will never see it so that's fine BUT...I do believe we'd see better CTR if the content was better. Reason being is that the un-related content will still show up in the SERPS and people may not click on your link since the description will have nothing to do with what they typed in. So a bigger/better article database would be muchly appreciated. I don't care how spun the content is but I would think that you could at least get the articles somewhat related?

Overall a great plugin but it does require some trial and error to get it running right and some updates would be nice!

I want this plugin!!! But the monthly was a big trouble for me as I have tons of sites to take care!

Does anyone know if there is some type of penalty from Google for too many 301 redirects on your site? :dontknow:

Matt Cutts Google has a video about old site 301 redirect links pointing at new site. And Google has no limits to these.

I have sites that have been using this plugin for almost 6 months now. I have never seen any kind of penalty from it.

Not to say it could NEVER happen, but I certainly haven't seen any kind of penalty yet. So far, Google just LOVES the content, and ranks for tons of keywords. Give it a try, Free trial.

keyword explosion image.jpg

There is no mistake that this plugin is GENIUS and works. The above picture is from a site I used keyword explosion on. IF FREAKING JUMPED IN TRAFFIC!!!

IDC if you dont believe me. The only problem is that the pages did not redirect and the site was a toy site and it gave me articles on plumbing...LOL Which is why it dropped later.

But @shwagoo. I've been communicating with you via your support section and havent received a response for some time. But I deleted the posts on one of my blogs, because I wanted to upload my own spun articles. But it just doesnt seem to work with the older blog. Now with a new blog it works just fine. Maybe its an issue with another plugin or maybe you can see something I cant. I plan on using the $hit out of your service, but got some bugs to work out.
