Thanks for the answer. I guess I will have to use paid proxies. Will have to do more research into this.

Thanks loopline. You are like my Britannica for SB.

Too bad I have to use multiple instances. I only got 1Gb ram.

Hello
I have a question about technical aspects or scrapebox. As i understand scrape box ram usage can be calculated like this: if there are 10 threads and webpage opened in every thread is 1MB in size then scrape box ram usage would be 10MB (threads) + 30MB(which is the scrapebox itself) or to put it in another way: Wepage1size + Wepage2size + Wepage3size + Wepage4size + WepageNsize + Scrapebox = Ram usage.
Is that correct?
This is important to me because I'm planning on buy a VPS.

And by the way - if use VPS do i have to use proxies when posting. I have used scrapebox on my home connection for a month without using proxies when i post. I don't care about getting banned in akismet/cloudfare/whatever or complaints from ISP. However wouldn't my vps account get suspended for not using proxies?

Scrapebox TDNAM Scraper addon is no longer working for about a week or so, does anyone experience problems with TDNAM Scrapper?

HAha, glad to be of a help. Yeah 1GB of Ram isn't much. Is that on a VPS? Cause you could always buy another copy of scrapebox for $45 and then run it just doing some light stuff on your home pc and run the rest on your VPS. That divides up the usage, whithout overloading any one machine and its only a one time cost. If your already using your home pc then its mute, unless you have a 2nd one you can use.

Honestly I never attempted to break it down this small and thats not the only elements anyway. EVERYTHING in scrapebox (basically) happens in memory/ram. So the list that you load in to post to, it gets stored in memory, all the names, emails, comments, your websites - those all get stored in memory. As its posting, it creates a log, which will include the entire list you loaded to post to and the status of that urls posting etc... So if you load in a 30MB file of urls to post to, then its going to create a log, which is at 30mb, plus, say you have 100K urls setting around in teh urls harvested section, thats taking memory, then as you post it keeps a running log from post session to post session.

The short answer is that each instance of scraepbox has the ability to use up to 1.8GB of memory. How much it uses depends on too many factors to predict on the level your trying to do so on. Also you can't control the size of each web page that loads.

Correct it stopped working about a week ago, because go daddy changed the file formats and ftp info and some other stuff. It was also fixed about a week ago with the new version of the tdnam scraper that was released about a week ago. So just update your addon. ;)

Always a good idea to just check if there is an update when something stops working, rather then lose a week of production.

Does this tool work with Windows vista??/
thank you

Sure, works with everything from XP-7 and server 2003 - 2008.

Hey loopline you are right im always researching a lot - sometimes it helps and sometimes it hurts.
Since i didn't receive any answers to this in another i thought i'd ask you here. Where do you think it is better to have your server location - in europe or USA? I think it'd be logical to choose server in a location where most websites are hosted . However i can't find any information about that. What do you think? For better posting speed do you think it is better to host your VPS in Europe or in the USA?

How long ago did you contact them? Whilst they do answer questions pretty promptly, they don't run 24hr support as there's only 2 people running the show as far as I know.

They also get hundreds of emails a day I imagine, so it's probably best just to be patient.

What exactly is your licensing problem/question? Maybe someone else can shed some light on it.

I bought scrapebox a few hours ago and am waiting on license activation

I think that is a subjective question. I would take 2 things into consideration. Primarily where you physically live, because you are going to get a better connection/experience/less lag when using RDP with a server that is physically located close to you. By the same token you are correct, in that grabbing a server near where the sites you are going to hit are hosted would also be ideal.

As for determining where the sites are hosted? Well I hit sites from all over the world and I have servers all over the world. I work on fast connections at my home, at my office and use 4G wireless on the road, so I typically have good interaction with my servers, although I notice a slightly increased latency when interacting with my server in Russia and I am in the USA.

So if you have a slow connection, go for a server that is physically close to you. Getting a server that is physically close to you and physically close to the proxies you buy is a double bonus, as it has to hit the proxies before it can hit the sites anyway. If you have a decently fast connection then toss it all to the wind and go for a solid company that has a good deal. My 2 cents.

Transaction ID

You should edit out the transaction ID to avoid the chance your license is stolen. Also it takes 12 hours or less for them to activate after you hit submit for your activation. Assuming you filled in the correct details.

Its been over 4 days since i have requested my scrapebox license transfer after reinstalling windows on my PC but all they have sent me is an email confirming that License has been successfully transferred but I don't know where because I still can't access scrapebox on my PC, it says "No valid license found". I have been trying to contact their support team, sent them email reminders as well but not getting any response from there side.

Sorry mate, i don't agree with you on this. You said a couple of days, lol 5 days already passed and i am still waiting for a response from their side.

Ok i just bought the software

I got a couple of questions so if you can answer, it will make my day !

0) PC requirements to run "light tasks". By the way, what could be "light tasks" ? I don't want to run into ISP problems (i already have 12 private proxies for Pinterest)
1) What VPS do you recommand. A company that won't delete everything the very next day i start using the software
2) VPS Requirements
3) Private Proxy supplier that is "scrapbox" friendly and that you are able to change the "dead" proxy without any problems (fast and at no cost)
4) I'm waiting for their reply as i just bought the software so i need to get another license for a VPS ? Should i use a VPS right away then ? After get another license for my home PC for light tasks (what ever it is)

Thanks guys

Pc could be pretty basic if you want light tasks. Something dual core 2-4GB of RAM.

VPS info here
http://scrapeboxfaq.com/scrapebox-vps-hosting

VPS requirements. If we truely are talking light tasks, then 1 instance of scraepbox and small small lists 1GB of RAM would be fine. 2GB would be more ideal, and Windows 2008 R2 is best.

Proxy info here
http://scrapeboxfaq.com/scrapebox-proxies

I assume you mean change dead proxies at no cost and not get private proxies at not cost? I don't really ever run into dead proxies, (dead being non working) but most providers I would think would swap those pretty quick.

Yes you would need a license for the vps and a seperate one for the home pc. I mean if I were you and I got a decent VPS I would use that first and get a 2nd license for the home pc. Email them about a discounted 2nd license. You can get extra licenses for $45.
