I think what happened is Hostamus rebooted my VPS. That is the only thing I can think of as some of my other programs were also closed when I signed back into my VPS.

It could be that the VPS crashed and rebooted, or whatever.

But the biggest issue I see, is that windows update installs update and restarts the system. Still happens to me from time to time when I get a new server and forget to turn off auto automatic updates. I always choose to have them download update, but ask me to install, then when I am going to restart the server anyway, I install updates and reboot.

Hi guys, I am a new user of scrapebox. Right now I have mastered finding proxies and checking them with scrapebox.
A great thanks to loopline and s4nt0s. Their videos really help a lot.

Now I have a few questions. I have been looking for a way to find the best configuration on my 100mbps VPS with 1 GB ram.
I also have 12 Private Proxies for Commenting. And I get around 900-2k Proxies from my proxy scraping that are google passed.

How do I set up the email notification in Scrapebox?
And sometimes I get 403 error on my private proxies. What to do with that? When checked with other software, they are fine.
I am mainly looking to do commenting daily. So please advise.

Thanks a lot.

What if i needed to format my laptop and of course, would re-install scrapebox. would that be ok?

Glad the videos were of a help. :)

As for config the vps, thats going to be some testing on your end. Start at like 10 threads with 90 second timeout and then keep turning up the threads until success tapers off. Thats the accurate way. If you want to shoot from the hip, go for 100 threads on a 60 second timeout. Your biggest limitation is that 1GB of RAM (and maybe the processor). But its likley that windows is eating 300-500MB of that 1000MB RAM so you are left with about 500 for scrapebox to use. So you can't work with super large lists. I would "guesstimate" that you shouldn't try to post to lists larger then 100-200K. Id go with 100K to be safe, else you could get out of memory errors and scrapebox crashes. Using the crash dump logger is going to be a good idea for you. Video I have on that here:
http://youtu.be/yzWukXbwGcY

Using public proxies for commenting will reduce your success, but you can always repost failed a few times.

The 403 on the private proxies means that either you don't have them setup right:

IP:PORT:USER:PASS
or
IP:PORT (if they are IP authenticated rather then user/pass)

OR

it could mean that you have too many simultaneous connections. Most all proxy providers have a max simultaneous connection limit, "a lot" of providers set this at 100, hence my 100 connections suggestion above. But you would want to ask your provider, as I have seen some that are absolutely ridicoulous at only 10 connections, right here selling on BHW and a very few with no connection limit. Most is 100 per server. "per server" is very hard to define. So just ask your provider what the limit is.

As for setting up the email, its under options >> setup email notification. Then just plug in your mail server details, check off the options you want to receive emails for and check off to enable notifications.

Here are the instructions:

You can do it for free 1 time per month.

Thanks a lot loopline. I will change the VPS to 2 gig in the coming month. Also I didn't know about the limitations of proxies that you mentioned. I will contact my provider now.

Have an awesome day.

most people use 10 private proxies to post with

and public proxies for scraping

scraping with private proxies isnt wise
as they get the 3 hrs google ban on large
keyword scrapes

posting with public proxies as loopline says will
get very low results.

Google Cache Extractor addon is not working for me. Can anyone confirm?

Its working fine for me. I mean I get some no cache, but nothing you can do about that, google doesn't show cache for as much as they used to. It does use proxies though, so try unchecking the use proxies box as a test. If your proxies are google blocked it won't work. So you probably need new proxies.

if u get stuck goto youtube look for videos by loopline
plenty there for new scrapebox users

Lately I can't scrape google.I am using 10-20 "google enabled" proxies, but after hitting harvest it just stay for a few minutes and then stops without any harvested url's.
But working with yahoo ( very few links, but still working ).What might be the problem?

Well if your scraping for advanced operators they could still be blocked. You can check out my video on advanced operator harvesting here:

One authentication server is down and I'm unable to change servers.

Neither of the auth servers are down, nor have been down, see pingdom:

http://stats.pingdom.com/vz0wm9714wj5

Its just on your end. Which means something is blocking scrapebox from accessing the internet. You need to find out what it is and unblock it. Try adding allow rules in all your anti-virus, and firewall programs. Try disabling the firewall in your router as a test. If your using bit defender you also have to disable the toolbar.

"worst case" you can go into your configuration folder and find the scrapebox.ini file. Then look for the entry that says something like

serverreverse=0

then change the 0 to 1 and you will force scrapebox to authenticate from the backup server. This is a bandaid while you figure out the problem, you shoudln't leave it this way, because the primary addon download server and other elements is also the main auth server, so your going to mess all that up by not getting the problem fixed right. But it might get you up with one instance and get you producing while you figure out what the problem is.

I am not able to access teh Scrapbox bhw page.. can you please fix it.. thanks

I don't know if I can trust pingdom but one server was offline, I could not get the license verified but now it's working. The second server was online though.

I have a question. When I add multiple urls to the website list. Does Scrapebox do them randomly or equally on all the urls?

For example, I have a 10k list. And 3 urls to backlink to. So when I use the blast, will SB blast 10k to each url or will it blast randomly throughout the 3 url, totalling to 10k links.

I want to know if its possible to use equal amount of links in each url. Other than using multiple instances and single url in each that is.

Thanks
Neo

@Neon240 It will blast randomly to the 10 k links :)

Thanks for the reply. And its Neo240 not neon lol.

Anyway to have scrapebox blast equal amount of blast per link?
Anyone with any tips or something that works?

Ok I used scrapebox and got this from my ISP. I used proxies.. anyone know what caused this?

Its going to "more or less" distribute them evenly. So if you had 3 links and 10K blogs you would not get exactly 3,333 links to each url, but it would be +- that by a little. If you want to do the whole 10K to each, then you would want to run separate instances.

You had a proxy that went transparent on you or you forgot to check the use proxies box on a run. I forgot to check the box once and got the same thing. But if your using public proxies to post, they could go transparent at any point, or happily divulge your information if they were asked for it.

So use paid proxies for posting and make sure you triple check to make sure the use proxies box is checked, like OCD style.

If you need to give them an excuse, tell them that you had someone staying with you that brought their laptop and they have left now, or that you had a wireless network that was open etc... Or just don't say anything if they haven't actually suspended your service.

Also you can pick up a cheap VPS and then worst case if you ever messed up your VPS provider would cancel you and you could happily walk to one of the other 10,000 providers. Etc... Where as with home internet there is typically only 1 or 2 providers as an option and you don't want to wind up with no internet.
