Is Translation considered Duplicated Content?

I'm wondering if a translated article or any content would be considered duplicate by google. For example I have an English article and create a Spanish translated version of that article and post that translated article elsewhere, is that a duplicate?

Of course not ! For example duplicate would be words = beer , beer

And can you see duplicate in latvian and english = Alus , beer .

Anyway duplicate content is pasted, and you should avoid that, or google willsay that its duplicate content, so go ahead and translate text.

Let me put it this way: Even if Google had actual humans manually check your blog, there would be NO WAY to catch it.

I've noticed G, deranking a lot of content run through their translator - somehow they have a way of detecting snippets. I have previously seen 1M+ pages get removed due to translation. Fortunately it didn't affect sites themselves, just the translated versions of content.

Let me put it this way: Even if Google had actual humans manually check your blog, there would be NO WAY to catch it.

Nothing to catch, as it is a unique, non-competiting format of the original, as it is in another language. It is seen as a ' stacked ' version of the original and is a primary business practice that everyone SHOULD do.

I do this with every article in my business, as it not only gives you a legitimate boost, it also expance your authority of your site for being more interactive and informative to more people via more language access points.

Win-win.

Not duplicate content in the eyes of google BUT in a legal sense it is and good ticket for DMCA warning

right now it is OK to use, but in future if google changes anything in their system, then only it will create some problem

Sorry for bumping but I wanna do translation of texts to english too and wanna know if it is still safe to do for ranking purposes. Maybe google translate tool would not be the best thing to do so I am looking particularly for another maybe even better translation tool which is not sponsored by search engine machines like Google.

Why exactly this is easier? Can you explain it in more detail please?

For my understanding managing 5 or 6 sites is more difficult and needs more nerves (my lose in nerves) than managin only one with 1 theme, login, ranking and so on.

Are u sure u read my post? Instead if asking a question where everyone will give u different answers, why dont u try it and the results for sure? It would take 30 minutes max to know the answer

Don't know how I should find out this in 30 mins. I wanted to know if my articles and sites may get punished or get penalty from Google, when I publish mainly translated content. Figured that someone knowledgable might know a answer to that and there were also some answers who gave me at least an idea. Publishing translated content on web 2.0 or whatever, I don't really see how this would help me figuring out this question in 30 mins? But maybe I am too dumb to understand what you really mean.
