Hey gang just wanted to thank BHW here and just give back a little tip that has been helping me. Maybe you already use or or not simple really. I have been taking in a lot of knowledge here I just feel if I can help one guy/gal out there I will feel better instead of just being selfish pig.

SO basically I have been reading here and also from some online gurus like Gauher Chaudhry is to use a persons photo (with permission) or your own photo or any headshot to build credibility. Like in a banner ad/ classified ad, skyscraper, flyer, real estate etc. just about anything. Since I started doing this I have gotten like 85% conversion. Well maybe I am exaggeratiing but it is huge!

Example: Assume you are looking for an aprtment for rent, CL apartment for rent real estate section you usually see just photos of a living room set, or you see the gym or pool or whatever and usually they are all without a face/person. I know which one I would call.:)

Use this one trick to get more/ ask more $$$ from whoever! You deserve a raise ,Use a model, friend get ideas be creative, do the opposite whatever.

Try it out in email responders too, like gmail add the photo, those fiverr people I see, yahoo answers no avatar use a real one too. I see so many blogs out there, sites with wording, basic cool colored graphics and spheres/designs etc.

Maybe you noticed this happening recently on google search pages? See the trend>?

Put a photo in that baner with the person who you is your target niche for whatever you are promoting. Use a couple.

Hope this helps.

Thats your "face" over a banner or any CPA or whatever you try to sell is something that grows the conversion

Are you sure it works.. I don't see much difference between the two.. as the banner with the person has more leads only if its related to the product or anything.. It applies only for some cases..

Only case it "might" work : dating and porn site

yeah thats what I mean if it relates closely to the product mainly.

Demograhically, try it out I guess maybe do a split test or something.

those images were just starting samples and not what I am using. Just like an example probably not the best

its a pretty tried and tested concept that it works guys. As he said, why do you think realtors put their face on their information and business cards? People buy from people, not businesses. "personalized" touches (even if it isn't really you) do better.

could you quantify the "do better"?

In my experience, in the physical business world this works well. In the online world, I'm not sure just how well it could work as when I see ads with faces and or people in it I just pass it off as a model and give no notice really.

Thanks for the share. Im skeptical tho.

If you didnt think that adding a face accrues credibility in any way, why would you include a picture of yourself (or a random person) as your avatar? Your intent was to show that you are indeed an individual who wants to be recognized through that particular image.

So by saying you are skeptical of using faces in marketing is rather ironic, don't you think? ;)

It is indeed a great tactic when you don't go too crazy with it.

Google search is not a good example, I for one don't click anymore on those faces. Because there are too many of them, and already perceived as an advertisement by my primitive brain.

The best tactic is like with any review out there. There should be 3 options:

- The bad
- The Ok
- The best one

Only the best one should stand out (and can be personalized as you suggest).

hahaha I agree, this guy is not too bright. lol either way I believe this to be true for my business as well. wholesale dropshipping and I always try to add a "boutiquey" feel to my sites and ads.
