I educate myself using photoshop, dreamweaver, and so on
I educate myself watching documentries, I hate mindless american "comedies" (friends etc)
I educate myself downloading ebooks from BHW
I open my eyes to the world using this cracked version on windows 7. I passed my first year of uni using a cracked version of word 2010, and dragon naturally speaking ( FROM THIS VERY FORUM!)
I earn money using blackhat methods with cracked software, such as TT.
I listen to new exciting music (not radio music...) from the pirate bay (Nine Inch Nails even released an album on there)

ALL this was capable because of 'piracy' a word used by the corporations who want to suck MY money, to make their swimming pools twice the size, their houses twice as big. THEY made the laws. I will ALWAYS support piracy. I am a better person for it

But the difference between you and megaupload was that megaupload was making money in the distribution of copyrighted material without paying a license fee or royalties. Yes downloading software is illegal, but the license to legally own it,is no where near the amount it costs to distribute it. If you owned a radio station and broadcasted music without paying royalties you would get fined, and maybe jail time depending on the laws of the country where the radio station is broadcasting from.

I do agree that it was wrong that he maybe going to jail,at the most he should have to pay fines and back royalties instead. Copyright and Trademark infringements should largely be a civil matter, except in a few cases such as counterfeit items.

Shows that they don't need PIPA or SOPA to come get you.

Yep. The passing of "laws" is nothing but a show for the masses these. If the government wants something, they'll take it no matter if they have the approval of the people or not.

My opinion is, oookay it's Megavideo, who care's.
But if they shutdown Rapidshare, then I have a serious problem. (until the next big thing is out)

Hopefully not, but they every well could be taken, and honestly, I would not be surprised if they do get shutdown.

I didnt say theft increases revenue .. what I was trying to say was If someone made a good movie/game people will watch/buy it..

as u said in ur earlier post

so same thing applies when downloading a movie/game .. if it's good .. people will watch/buy it ..

It is not the same thing...
WSO have money back guarantee by the owners.... movies do not.

WSO have a use after you read it... movies do not.

Most movies are seen and are not bought.
So the initial watching of the movie is where the money is.

I explained that in the thread.... read the whole thread before responding to my post.

but here it is.

Most of the WSO are pure junk.
I would be returning 90% of them.
That would look bad for my paypal account.

If I do a lot of returns using paypal, then my paypal account will lose credibility.
It will look like I am a scammer.
They will think I am just paying for the products and keeping them.
They do not understand how WSO work... that most are rehash garbage.

I do not want to fuk with my paypal.... I run too much money thru my paypal to fuk with it in any way or form.

I'm not a double sided liar. I am willing to accept the curent laws regarding licensing and distribution mean, has nothing to do with whether I agree or disagree.

If you want to engage in that kind of activity you have to understand the risk involved and the laws. And be willing to cover your business model which means.

1. Not be a U.S. citizen
2. Live in a country without a extradition treaty with the U.S.
3. Own a foreign based tld
4. Have foreign based hosting
5. Don't brag like the MU guy did.(having vehicles with Mafia,Hacker as license plates will hurt your defense in court. As well as bragging about things in emails)
6. Know when to get out.

After making all that money the guy should have sold most of his business and keep MegaMusic and used it as a legit business.

As for my comment on having to pay back royalties and fines. Woudn't you rather settle for $20-30 million, and still have over $100 million left to start a legit business, then spend 5 or more years in prison?

America acting as the worlds cops again yawn. Fecking youtube makes money from the same thing - at least in some respect.

I hate all this riaa movie stuido shit, i ran some bh movie site for a bit had a bunch of alphabet boys going to my registrar.

No! Maybe I would think bigger (after I got the millions) to fight the copyright industry in a way which supports the artits and is good for the people as well! That seems the future of MU.

So this guy gets all my support, because I think of this facts since I used Napster in the early 2k years.

BTW: I didn't want to make it personal, but I hate the onesided clash on MU, when everybody uses OCHs for their needs.

I dont hate MU,but I do understand that Kim dotcom fucked up big time,by getting a little too greedy and taking way to many risks that weren't needed. Had he have done a few simple things. He could have had the kind of site that artists would make more money from and have alot more money in 5 to 10 years from now, then probably being broke when he gets out of prison.

MegaMusic could have had huge potential to earn him and artists more money then they are getting now,and saved music lovers alot of money.

My Opinion (same like some other million people):
Mega?s competing music venture is/was called Megabox, a site that would soon allow artists to sell their creations directly to consumers. And unlike the traditional record deals where artists get only a fraction of the revenue, with Megabox the musicians would get to keep 90% of earnings.

So. A Contentmafia is trying to get the goods until it's dying. Like dinosaurs.
Seems to be logical! But the time is over! Now!
