I mean come on megauload owner did get filthy rich off other people work. I mean he does own a warez upload site. i can say everything was justified. After I made all that money i would had simply STOPPED hosting MP3/music files for good and stuck to documents/pics and others or I would had them sign a notice and upload ID stating they own the music legally and will not share it.

I am reading the Indictment right now and paragraphs 20-24 strongly imply that MegaUpload was running afoul of the DMCA provisions. Even more evidence supports that in the following paragraphs 25-30. If this is true then this is LEGITIMATE.

It was justified....

we just do not want to admit it.

Gotta salute the guy. $42m profit from copyrighted content. You don't get more blackhat then that.

WOW, this comes out from like no where oO

I though Megaupload was unreachable ! omfg

Does Kimble fit in the small guantanamo cells ? He is quite large...

DAMN I just bought lifetime megaupload membership for 199$... (not, just kidding).

Isnt... Wasnt Megaupload an Alexa Top10 site ?

HEY KIMBLE you should have sticked to House of Coolness BBS selling those credit and calling cards ... Or better even never started with blueboxing and computers... enjoy to spend the rest of your life in federal US prison for money laundering , tax evasion etc.

So you made 150 Million $ but were too stupid to just take it and walk... lol

Fun guy! But he got now what he always wanted.... Fame... and worldwide media coverage

I jus tbought a lifetime account recently what the chances of me getting that money back

Yeah, right, just wait until they approve SOPA, and within a few weeks you will lose all the infrastructure to be able to fight back..

The internet is over..

wtf are you talking about man. You have no clue how the internet works. Even if the bill was passed we wouldn't "lose the infrastructure".

The internet is a giant web of interconnected computers. We'll always be able to stay connected. ALWAYS. If one router goes down packets are automatically re-routed.

It is a RESPONSIBILITY of the producer to secure their own content, if you f*cking forgot to lock your door, it's your responsiblity that your house got assaulted.

In comparison, this would be like prohibiting everyone from walking in the street because you cannot find a way to secure your house...

Like he said he won't sign several other bills that he ended up signing?

Right..

Furthermore, even if SOPA fails, eventually something like it is going to get approved.

Regardless, even without SOPA, you can see what they did with megaupload.

If they can close megaupload, they can just as well close filesonic, mediafire, rapidshare, wupload and so forth, with ease!...

Filesonic does Virtual DNA to auto delete files now. They are going legit,so that they can still make money.

He is trying to say that this is the beginning of the end of the internet as we know it

That is what I find hard to believe.

42 Million profit in 2010.

That much money from a file sharing site.

The money had to come from other sources.

42 mil $ in one year , in total he made 150$ million and more profit. its an alexa top100 site.

i would suppose its even more. 1 million paying members would already bring this in and they had more

If you leave your house unlocked.... and someone breaks in..

they are going to jail.... end of story.
