-LIVE CASE STUDY! Follow what we do and how we rank!!!!!!!--

Some good stuff over here.

I've read through the post but you haven't explained what or how a linkwheel looks like for you.

I've ran a check on your kw, it only gets 210 exact searches a month.
#1 has a number of backlinks aaf-houston.org. But if you run a check you most likely can see some cracks in their linking strategies. (Seo spyglass is a good friend).

Non the less this is interesting so i'm following

As far as the link wheel...Its articles posted on websites that link both to the money site and to the next article.

And As stated in the original post, we changed the keyword slightly to protect clients :) All the rankings, positioning, SEO etc are exactly accurate. For this test

Good stuff!!

Questions:
1. approx age of site?
2. how much variation do you have in anchors?

Thanks

can't wait for the result.. I will be updated for this thread.. :)
are you using proxies to build the backlinks?.

1. 15 Years
2. Variation on this vanity keyword is 0% since we aren't building a lot of links. Normally we put in at least 25% variation.

It seems like it'd be really easy to rank a city keyword... what are the exact monthly searches?

Yeah, this is what I would call an easier keyword to rank. That's why we said in the beginning it is a "vanity keyword." Its something you might come across working for local / offline clients. I find that a lot of people go overboard and waste time and money trying to rank the simple stuff we are testing what is the minimum amount that needs to be done and so far, as usual, It isn't taking much. Buy yeah, we don't just test the hard stuff, we test easy, hard, medium, everything.

I will be conducting multiple case studies you guys can follow along that will have a variety of competition.

]Day 1

Rank: 54

We Built
? 50 bookmarks
? 50 profiles
? 18 link linkwheel

Links began dripping out through Linklicious

Day 2-3

Playing waiting game, working on other projects and packing my house for the move...I plan on just letting linklicious drip for now.

Day 4

Rank: 52

Still playing the waiting game, there was a minor shift in rank....nothing special so far. I expect to see some movement in the next couple of days. I'll do another update after Thanksgiving unless something big happens.

Day 5

Rank: 182

There we go, now we are dancing with google. I was going to wait till after the holidays to update but this seemed worth an update. As expected, we dropped to 182 rank, I'll let it dance over the holidays and update you mondays or tuesday. =)

Happy Holidays.

Day 9

Rank: 181

? 1,500 profile links, drip rate 250/day (Note: This isn't recommended for new sites, this site is very old so it can handle more a day.)

The rank has fluctuated a little bit while it has danced, bouncing around 180. I suspect it will stop dancing some time this week, (I'd be really surprised if it danced longer than that with what we did) I went ahead and did some profile links and Im going to let it drip out.

Day 10

Rank: 2

Sweet! As expected, we came out of the google dance and landed on the first page. It will still probably fluctuate before it stabilizes. I still have the profile links dripping out at 250/ a day.

Note: This ranking bump was most likely not due to the profile links since those were just built. I'm pretty happy it jumped to #2, I expected somewhere on first page...2 is great. It still has some stabilization to go. I think the sites original age/strength plus low medium competition played a good role in the big bump.

Day 12

Rank: 6

We have been shifting between rank 2 and 7 for the last couple of days...I'm going to give it a little more time before I do anything else to it. We still have have profile links dripping out at 250/day through linklicious.

Pretty impressive jump! Do you have stats on traffic for that term now that you're sitting at #6?

Also I know you are doing the work in house but do you have cost estimate of what you have done so far (if you paid for the services)?

Also do you have any more info on competition (like how many results on google for the term in quotes)?

Easily under $50 for all of the links and labor, only a couple hours of your time and you can make a quick couple hundred dollars.

For this particular "client", We aren't tracking web stats with these guys as it's a vanity keyword favor.

I have been lurking this thread since it started, nice to see the fast rise to page 1, I am sure the client is thrilled!

You mentioned this was in house tools, i.e automated so I am assuming there is nothing particularly special about these links?

If there are could you share what that might be? I am sure I missed it in the thread, the linkwheel was in the form of articles, that much I got but are the articles placed in directories, web 2.0's or private blog networks?

They are just article directories, nothing special about them. There isn't some secret sauce we are hiding or anything. We do, obviously, use our own in house tools (linklicious, etc) that you can purchase and use yourself and then we also use some that are internal tools we don't sell. (The tools we don't offer you can still accomplish the task via buy sell trade threads, fiver, or purchasing link wheels, etc)

If you want a list of the tools we offer visit

http://www.HKSEO.us

...and see everything we currently offer. But I don't want this to turn into some sales ad. We are just showing you WHAT we did, you can use any tools you like.
