EW, although this has affected me, like many here, I do feel for you, with my own experience from running a business handling the IT for corporate clients, where the stakes are far higher and the SLA's far stricter and costly. For those of you out there who will accuse me of sucking up, I can guarantee, I am not; like you, this has hurt me, but in reality, we all have options to rebuild our losses, EW will suffer a lot more in the short term and perhaps longer term from this.
A lot of the negative comments on here I would presume are fairly accurate. I am in two minds myself how to proceed, but I am leaving my decision until I can speak with EW or Ez to get some more details.
Not really sure why I am writing this, probably to do nothing more then to formulate things in my own mind a bit. In reality, what has happened was probably what I feared and expected with the price and deal on offer and I guessed that EW was a guy trying to have a go, so I took the chance.
Trust me, I am not normally this mellow, especially about things like this, but we all have choices to make and cannot lay all blame at the feet of EW. You can call him inexperienced, say he was over stretching his knowledge and capabilities, but we all saw the cheap price and bought and if you are as honest with yourself, as I am being, deep down, you had this fear of some kind of problem happening, but hoped it wouldn't.
As far as the service and EW goes, I have no answer; I don't know EW. I am sure he will go through a lot of self questioning once he has a good sleep and, depending on how strong he is, he will either learn a massive lesson, or give up, as I said, I don't know him, so I can't answer that and some of you probably don't give 2 shits about him atm, but what I have gathered about EW is that he is having a go, as we all are here.
Probably while my downtime has been far worse then I have ever suffered, the one thing that has kept me hopeful is that EW has been honest in a very difficult situation (I am sure we are all used to the BS of hosts cutting our sites and telling us to upgrade).
EW may be out of his depth as some have stated, I can't answer that, but along with the 2 choices we have, he also has 2 choices, give up, or invest in his business and provide the best service he can and move ahead and put this behind him.
As I said, I hope to speak with EW and EZ to help make up my mind of how I proceed, your choices are your own, as are your frustrations the same as mine and how we deal with that is upto each of us.
What I am hoping for is that EW deas continue and those that remain get an enhanced version of the service they had before this problem arose, as in reality, that will be the best outcome for us all.
