I don't think Scrapebox is effective for SEO any longer. I recently posted megassloads of links to a domain I never blasted before. The domain is 4 years old and was ranking at #25 for the desired keyword. A week and 100k posted comments later it ranks at # 25.

Can anyone disprove my theory that SB is no longer useful for SEO? Any other case studies?

i had ran into some weird problems like this when i had a static ip set on my computer that was behind a router and modem... i then set my ip to dynamic and all the problems went away... i'm not sure if that will help but maybe worth a try though...
I checked that out... mine is set on dynamic.

Yes. Here is a video.

Well the ping test failing is a bad thing, it pings standard servers, not a custom hosted server by scrapebox.

All timing out and 404 would be a connection issue. Timeout means no access, basically (if they all timeout). With a 404 its getting someone and something is generating an error code and kicking it back.

Quick and dirty test is if he has a laptop and can hook it to another ISP/network and see if it works will tell you if its his network on on his pc.

Its possible for instance its his DNS with his ISP, he could try google DNS as a test. http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/

Also it could be settings in his router/modem, thus the easy test with the laptop, especially if he has changed any settings in there since he got it.

All that stuff out of the way its somewhere on his pc, which is what is most likely anyway. If he has a rule in his firewall and you disable it, the existing rule can still fire. So have him delete any rules in the firewall regarding scraepbox and add a full allow rule rather then disable it, then restart the pc.

Also many anti-virus programs have firewalls built in, I have had McAffee block scrapebox before on my pc and I have seen tons of people with Nod32 or Malware bytes be blocking scrapebox. so delete existing rules and add allow rules in all anti-virus, malware checkers, firewalls and any other security programs.

You can also try a small test in safe mode with networking. Most of these offending programs don't load by default in safe mode and if it works in safe mode with networking then its for sure on his pc somewhere.

Those are the most likely scenarios. Also you could have him try to give his PC a swift kick and see if that helps. :) lol (just kidding).

:pirate: Love the featured smiley! Need this for talk like a pirate day (couldn't resist hehe) :pirate:
Hey loopline, proxy_go is referring to me. I have had SB for 3 days and cant get it to work. We have spent many hours on this only to meet with more frustration. We have disabled the firewall and antivirus ( panda ), also added to whitelist. I tried what you had suggested so far. I started in safe mode and when i checked the server connection its still the same. ping shows RED = 0.....access = GREEN......authentication = GREEN.............. I took the laptop to a cafe network and started SB and checked the server connection again. This time ping was GREEN......but access was RED and authentication was GREEN. I need your help please.

Plus there is the issue of IPs, if you logged in and then used 20 different IPs to drop comments, yahoo would know you were spamming. So you would have to have multiple IPs, multpile logins, and the logins would have to be locked to the IPs. Thats a whole different ball game all together.

I don't see how that would make sense. If you logged in to yahoo with your Android phone set to pickup local unsecured WiFi networks, you'd be logging into the same yahoo account with a different IP address all the time. Same goes for your laptop if you use a Sprint Aircard, right? I think the same thing applies if you use a VPN. New IP every time you log on. Well...unless you log on 12,000 times, then you might end up using the same one twice. The days of a single user sitting at a single computer and tapping into their accounts from a single IP are long over. If this is a "footprint" that large services are looking for, then they are going to end up banning hordes of legit accounts. So many that their service will be negatively impacted to a serious degree. The kinda of hit that could run into the millions in lost revenue for super-sites.

I find Scrapebox"s customer service very poor. I can only get one response per day from them. At this rate, maybe i can get this program to work by christmas.

I've just bought Scrapebox & don't know how to activate it. It says enter your "Transaction ID" but I haven't been given one anywhere (I don't have a PayPal account)...

So... how did you purchase ScrapeBox when you do not have a paypal account?

You did not answer my question: How did you actually pay for ScrapeBox?
With my debit card, how else? I did indeed use paypal, but you don't need an account to pay with it. It gives you the option of just entering your card details.

Nevermind, found out the issue: I was sent a Receipt No. instead of a Transaction ID - they are used interchangeably on paypal. Gosh, how the simplest of things can be overcomplicated.

What is the name of the ebook about 'ways to use scrapebox'(or something like that) ?
Not talking about how to use scrapebox (scrape/post/ping/scrape/blast/settings).

I know it is probably somewhere in this thread but can not seem to find it
so....

How do you change your license to another pc ?
do you have to email scrapebox team (they are not accepting emails about licensing)

or will it be automatically

cheers

Just purchased and waiting for my account to be activated:

Unique Transaction ID XXXXXXXXXX

Also, anyone know any tutorials on using Scrapebox to find blogs to comment on? Not really sure how to use this and I don't know what proxies are for..

You need to go to the download page when you first bought the license. So, check your e-mail because they sent you one after. I think you can only do this once per month so just download it to the PC you want to use it on.

Hey friendly heads up - you should edit your post to remove the transaction ID, posting transaction ID's in public is a bad idea in general.

As for tutorials, check loopline's stuff for starters.
