[Method?] Getting top 10 in Google search

I have realized that in general, Google tries to provide a good mixture of links on the first page from the following:

1. Authority websites
2. Forums
3. Videos
4. Blogs
5. News
6. Images
7. More that I can't think of right now

Now it is not always that all these types of site links will be there on the first page.

What I believe is that suppose, for instance, a forum has somewhat less "SEO rating" in the eyes of Google (based on parameters like backlinks, PR etc.) and with the normal SEO rating, there aren't any forums on the first page of google, then Google lowers the threshold and includes the forum in the top 10 result.

Similar will be the case with other types of sites.

Yes of course. If a site has higher "SEO rating" than any other site, it will be placed higher in SERPs.

Now, I haven't always seen the "mixture of sites", but yeah, Google almost always tries to provide as much information (from varied sources) as possible to the user.

Now that's BS, i can bring you 20+ sites that are ranked nr.1 for the keywords with a high search volume, they have been dominating google for years, have maybe 3 sentences of text, 1 page etc...

Google does not prioritize "SEO ranking" as much as "******"

I didn't really come across such sites for high volume keywords as you are telling. Would like to study one if you don't mind. (If you don't want to share link publicly, pm would also be nice)

I have found, if a kw search term produces different web2.0, such as articles, facebook, video, etc, it is a good kw to rank for, and generally will be easier.

Really does depend on the niche, a niche that's really competitive can have top 10 results completely dedicated to competing companies who are purley offline and hardly anything but products on the website, of course with just products the amount of "information" is certainly limited!

What does the star signify? And yes, G does rank sites on some kind of "SEO rating".
