Newbie questions about starting

Hello!
At the start, I want to tell that I know that there are many topics like mine, but I just couldn't find them :\
I already have a domain (.tk - is it having a difference if my only option was to have .info domain?) and a hosting (from hostgator). I already installed Wordpress and I submitted one article. I don't know how to get traffic to my site. I read this forum much time a day, but I still don't know how. I heard about this scrapebox (but it's too expensive for me).
Can someone tell me, are there any free ways to improve my site in google searching?
Also can someone teach me what is all this rss and its feed? I mean I use it, but I don't know what's up with it

Don't ever use a .tk domain. .info is better, but you should go for .com/.org/.net.

A few techniques for driving traffic to your website,
- Get backlinks from niche related high traffic websites
- Promote your article on social networking websites (I would suggest you to publish a teaser article and redirect the user to your website for full article)
- Participate in blog commenting with anchor text pointing back to your website
- Participate in forum with anchor text in your signature

I suggest you read more or you go to digital point forums to understand the basics of SEO. Then once you know, come back, but these questions have been asked so many times and due to their simpleness and the fact that people can just read more and get their questions answered, they annoy fellow members.

.tk domains are garbage. .info's are only 2.17 at godaddy. Go there.

You can try to use Social media sites for traffic until your site comes in good rankings in the search engines. You can also make some good videos and than post them to youtube. leave your link in the description. There it hardly matters a .tk domain or a .com domain. the people are just excited to visit after watching videos. Try it, it gave me good results that is why I am suggesting you also.

Now I am promoting my site ONLY via youtube and twitter (~70 followers - how to increase them MUCH?) and in forum signatures. When I'm uploading something then I always put my link in the rar file (eg. want more? check it out! -link to my site-. I am registering in high PR sites and making profiles in forums or sth to just put my link into. I'll try to get into autoapprove blogs - write article the same as is in site but with less words and say if you want full article go to my site...

And, as I read Your comments guys, I'm going to make *.info site instead of *.tk. Thanks everyone very much for the answers!

For youtube I used Youtube groups to promote, but I think now those groups are closed. Use viewtubetrain for more view counts. For twitter you can use twiends.com and get lots of targeted followers. I am using twiends for the last 6 months and I have approximately 10000 followers for all my accounts.
Go to theme related forums and discuss what they are discussing, don't just put the signature in your profile and forget to go back to the forum. You should be active in the forum for good results. Go for forums which does not allow immediately to post signatures like digitalpoint.

Look into easy SEO solutions that you can apply yourself. Don't think to much at it. Find smth you know you can do and go with it. You can try some simple linkwheels at first.

Start by going to the Main Menu at the left of this page and click on the WhiteHat SEO link. Read the sticky threads in that forum (the ones at the top that have Please Read: next to them). Then browse through the other threads in that forum looking for additional things that seem to make sense to you.

After doing that you can go back to the Main Menu to click the link for the BlackHat SEO forum and do the same in that forum. Once you've read those sticky threads you should be ready to get started following the steps to improve your own site. After reading those sticky threads then the other threads you read about SEO should make a lot more sense so you can apply those tips to your site as well.
