I've been wanting to get into marketing on fb for a while so please don't shoot me down too much with this question:

What is the advantage of having more likes for your fan page if the likes are from raj's service?

Is it that:

• The more likes your fan page has, the higher up your fan page gets in the search list when someone searches for your niche in fb?
• OR
• The extra likes add more kudos to your fan page AFTER someone has already found it and therefore makes them more inclined to like it themselves?
  
• OR
• Have I missed the point entirely?

Thanks for asking the question, I am glad to reply to your queries.

I am not sure about the page getting higher rankings if it has more likes.

Higher likes have a lot of advantages, Some of them are:

1. Yes, of course, The extra likes add more kudos to your fan page AFTER someone has already found it and therefore makes them more inclined to like it themselves.

2. It creates a solid brand image for yourself/your company etc.

3. People start trusting you more because they feel that - If thousands of people like you on facebook, you must be gooooood !!
and yes, they may buy your products due to the same.

4. It may also affect the popularity of your competitors, If they have lower fans than yours, you could get more customers !!

5. Its a known fact, that majority of people prefer listening viewpoints from others about a particular brand/service etc, before using them first.
Example - Movie Reviews, Reviews of services on internet, Celebrities promoting products.
All these are part of persuading customers because they feel that others like this product/brand/service, I should give it a try tooo! And Facebook is one of the most important and latest tools in this regard.

The more fans you have on your fanpage, The more benefits you will have. Please let me know if you still have any queries
