So, I know this is crazy old but I just started reading the "4-hour workweek" and have been thinking of ways to outsource some of the non-business related tasks in my daily life.

I'm talking about things like scheduling activities, researching new restaurants in my area, finding new movies for date nights, writing down my grocery lists, researching ideas i may come up with (I work in the music industry, so finding new music, new trends, etc is important)

What do you guys think? Can you think of any other things that would be good ideas to outsource? What non-business tasks do you guys outsource? I am a bit scared to let anyone handle financial tasks like looking over my checking account for false charges, etc, but would love to hear ideas on that.

The 4 hour work week is a scam.

I kind of felt that way too. He has some nice ideas but he seems to conveniently skip all the 12+ hour days you have to hustle through to get to the point where you can work 4 hours a week.

i would first outsource my money making, and then use the funds from that to outsource everything else.

4 hour work weeks are totally possible :)
just don't expect instant results simply from reading 1 ebook about it.

i dont think its a scam..First and foremost, i do think its outdated at this point...but i would argue that the principles are sound and conceptually valid. i took it like everything else i read...its just another idea to add to what you are already doing...Basically he is describing the actor network theory (which i love) but i dont think its fair to say scam.

Just my $0.02 :-)

but thanks for the input guys

haha i love that,

i can just imagine Anthony Robbins outsouring someone to read a bedtime story to his children at night
It's called a 'nanny'.

People have been 'outsorcing' stuff for centuries, do you really need to read a book to know there are positions called domestic worker, secretary, assistant and so on?

I wonder what you may think but thats what my Cute Personal Assistant(PA) is doing for me already?

I can outsource your love making with your gf.PM me for details.

Care to elaborate on your statement? I'm curious to hear your opinion.

When it comes to outsourcing for IM I have found using services offered on BHW and other similar sites to be a lifesaver. I think too many people envision outsourcing as only being you hiring some individual in a far off land to work for you 20 or 40 hours a week on just your stuff. That is definitely one definition but not the only one. There are a lot less headaches in dealing with dedicated services for different matters. The cost is more but the babysitting is a lot less once you know what services to use!

I recommend you to be a virtual assistant. You can save your time and do helpful things.
It is quite popular now. Try and you loose nothing

The reason that it is a scam is because its an illusion.

Outsourcing is awesome.. I do it every day.. However to work 4 hours a week is just plain unrealistic if you want to achieve anything in life.

i had a live-in nanny, several actually. i gave up on that. i only outsource business stuff now. i think its harder to train people for "personal" tasks, and i couldn't imagine doing it remotely. im too poor to have a nanny now though :(

If you outsourced your ideas to someone, they would eventually quit and steal them.
