This is such an old post. In any case, I'd like to point out that the guy saying "A wise man said [...] too much information [...]" is simply not thinking.
Multiple monitors allow you to spread all the information you need in a single distribution, meaning you require less time tracking what you should be tracking, and focusing more time on simply reviewing and using the information.
The practical uses are endless, but to list some possibilities:
- A screen d3dicated to IM for contacting with clients.
- A screen d3dicated to research (notepads, multiple browsers).
- A screen d3dicated to whatever you are actively working on (for which you'd need the research).
Honestly, I can't see anyone in PPC or web design/coding (or even SEO / social marketing, for that matter) being able to work properly WITHOUT at least two monitors.
I think three is only reasonable, and perhaps still a bit lacking.
Add to that the people that actually code, needing demos, multiple OSes, data sheets, etc.
As for myself, I can only work if I have at least two screens, but I prefer more. I run 24" Samsung LED screens, as they tend to be easier on the eyes. This month, I'm using only one screen as I need to focus on my writing.
Nice set-ups, everybody.
