Will I make it to $1000 a month?

Hey guys,

I'm currently on vacation but the IM bug has bit me again. After reading some journeys here about Amazon affiliate websites. I have decided to create one of my own.

It might not be easy with ai overview and the amount of ai bots like chatgpt out there, but I think it's still possible to have decent success with it.

I will be creating a microniche site first to target low competition decent search volume keywords that have buyer intention. The articles will be buyer guides and comparisons + reviews. When I have fleshed out the niche decently I will create content for a related microniche and keep doing this to increase the content and authority of the website.

Sounds like it might be tough and too general to work right? It might be! That is why I will be using a few twists that hopefully will give my site some fighting chance.

The twists?

The twists are that I will be targeting my local language from the country I live in instead of the global market. This should already reduce a lot for the competition if I am correct. Another thing is that I am going to use social media to boost the traffic early on instead of just waiting for organic traffic while ranking the content.

These two things should give me a decent chance at success if I keep at it for 3-6 months when done next to the usual things.

What did I do already?

Today I have chosen a fresh domain with a name that could become a brand. It might be tougher early on with getting ranked etc, but that is fine by me.

What I also did was the basics of setting up the website and installing WordPress.

My skillset

Things that I can do at least decently:

  • Create a WordPress website and optimize it with plugins etc.
  • Create a silo structure for my articles (menu buttons go to main page with a few popular articles at the top and the rest in a grid below) all articles will refer back to main page
  • Do basic keyword research with tools like semrush
  • Rewrite AI assisted content to make it personal and optimize it for seo
  • Build basic backlinks

What's next?

Since I am still on vacation, I will take it easier for the next few days. I still have to install plugins and see what other things are needed for the website. I will also create the structure on the website so that I can start producing content afterwards. I am probably going to research keywords and possibly create content as well if I have enough time. I will also be looking into AI images to use for my articles when needed.

Conclusion

That's all for now. So, what do you think? Am I going to make it or not? I added a poll for fun so vote for it if you want to support or hate.

Feel free to comment or ask questions

Good luck with your journey. Did you do keyword research already?

Do you already have a keyword and link building system? What details are you using about your domain name? What field are you working in?

I feel like in 2016 again, good luck, I hope this kind of blog still works

What is your niche? Good luck!

What kind of domain you are using fresh or expired ?
I am using a fresh domain
What types of backlinks you will be making?
I am not sure yet here. Might go with guest posting from site in the same niche when the site is making decent money.
Good luck with your journey. Did you do keyword research already?
Not yet, I am still on vacation for a few days. Might do it if I have some spare time.

Not yet. My domain name is related to my niche which is Home.
I feel like in 2016 again, good luck, I hope this kind of blog still works
Blast to the past is always good. I hope so too. Haven't been looking at IM for a long time now.
What is your niche? Good luck!
My niche is Home. Thanks!
I seriously doubt this works in 2026.
I would like to prove you wrong in a few months time.
Why?
I have no doubts , if OP can manage to do consistent work

Your journey is one of the threads I have been reading since the past few days I'm back. I read you said it is not that great success yet, but I think it's already good! I'm sure you will reach your goal soon with the added few sites.

Update

Haven't had too much time since I was outside most of the day. Went to Macau with my brother to meet up with a friend to visit the Venetian, Londoner and Parisian. Unfortunately the gambling gods wanted to help lighten my wallet. Oh well, it was fun to reunite with a friend after 3 years.

For the website I installed and configured some plugins while I was in the bus and had some time to kill. Things might be slow for a few more days till I'm back home.

I have also started thinking about content ideas and what the main categories should be. Untill next time!

Good luck! Google's update a few years ago killed my affiliate site and I haven't managed to get any traction since. Will be watching this to see if you make it. Rooting for you!

I hope OP succeeds, but I don't see how this is possible without huge social media following in the AI age where Google hoards all traffic with the AI answers and sends almost nothing to small publishers. Maybe this works better for local markets, for example, German site that points to Amazon DE.

I run without any social media traffic ;)

Thanks! Let's see how it goes.
good luck with your journey
Thank you good sir.

Who knows. I am in a local market with a local Amazon. I am also planning to use social media as well.

How old is your website now? I know your journey was from January, but the site was already up for a while right? How long did it take for the first traffic and dollars to drop in?

Update
The first category and article have been created. Took a while but the article is about 2000 words long. I will have to update the article later, but figured having something online earlier can be more beneficial than getting things perfect.

Sounds like a great goal. Best of luck with it!
Thanks mate
he is on vacation in his toilet. seo is dead. stop posting fake things online.
Funny you should say this, I was feeling pretty dead on the toilet for the past 5 days with a stomach bug. It happened after my vacation though.

Update:
Haven't been able to do much because I was sick. But I do have the other pages of the website completed and posted the 2nd article as well as started on the 3rd one. Small baby steps.

I did rank for 2 organic keywords that are not really related to what I want. But at least it shows that my website got indexed? Added picture for you guys.

Anyways, hopefully I will have more for next time.

I think the approach is realistic, especially because you’re not relying entirely on SEO from day one. Targeting a local language and a tight microniche should give you a much better starting point than trying to compete globally.

Good luck with the project — definitely interested to see how it develops.
