Posting vs commenting on Reddit what's better ?

Trying to figure this out...

Posting feels hit or miss , but commenting seems safer

1) Where do you get better traffic ?
2) Anyone focusing on comments ?

Posting might drive more traffic than commenting but your post is likely to get deleted and result in your ban than commenting.

To be clear, both can result in sub ban. The safest and more reliable is commenting without links, just mentioning of site/product.

In my opinion posting and commenting both matters because a new account has very low trust score and commenting helps to be active in subreddits and posting helps to bring more traffic.

For me, comments are more consistent. A good comment on the right post can bring profile visits every day. Posts can bring a lot more traffic, but they're also more hit or miss. I usually do both, but comments are underrated.

According to my personal experience, comments are more consistent while posts are more unpredictable.

Better traffic: Posts can bring much more traffic when they take off, but they are hit or miss. Comments usually bring smaller amounts of traffic, but more consistently.
Focusing on comments: Yes. I spend a lot of time commenting because it helps build account history, karma, and credibility. A good comment on a popular thread can sometimes outperform an average post.

Comment are good for ai index , good for long term results for Company or marketing post.
Post are instant results and instant response.

Post vs comment depends purely on your needs

for aged accounts commenting works solid but honestly once your account has some age to it posting gets way better returns. mix of both is the sweet spot, just gotta watch the account health and karma buildup

For visibility and driving traffic posting is better. Commenting is mostly done in order to farm more karma.

I find posts better for reaching a new audience, while comments are better for building trust and joining relevant conversations, so I use both depending on the goal.

I am not a Reddit guy specialist, but from general forum activity I would suppose building engagement or karma first would be better, especially for building better reception of your eventual posts. How about pursuing both, where you do commenting then later evolve into posting? Or, creatively combine the two, as in first read several new posts with comments relevant to your niche, then write a useful post without links spelling out your take on the topic?

After which, you go back to the new posts/comments, and write comments (with link) pointing to your main post, and your money page outside Reddit. "Oh, by the way, I went into this subject more fully over here (Reddit link), based on this (off Reddit link)." The latter may even be respectably disguised, e.g., as a Wikipedia page or YouTube video/channel about your site. Your main content is protected by the 'innocent' post, and comments on it by you that get removed can be replaced by new ones.
