If this is your first time applying and your AdSense account is fresh, approval usually takes 2 weeks and Over the last 3 years, most websites were approved automatically by Google’s bot. However, after the October 2022 update, the process became much stricter.
Here’s what you need to know:

Fast approval usually means your site passed automated checks
Delays often mean manual verification, which increases the risk of disapproval
AdSense does use automated checks (bots) as part of the review process — they scan your site for basic policy compliance, structure, content quality, etc. and this can happen quickly.
In many cases, there is a deeper human/manual review after the initial automated checks, especially if something in your site triggers policies or needs closer inspection. This phase can take much longer, even several weeks.
Sometimes the review mix varies — not every site gets a full manual review; some get approved mostly through automated systems if everything is clearly compliant.
“Human review” doesn’t always mean a Google employee personally reads every page — Google uses internal systems, and some decisions might still rely on automated signals or support teams behind the scenes.
