Hey everyone,
I’m looking to get into paid ads + affiliate offers, but the amount of information online is overwhelming.

For those who’ve actually done this successfully:

  • Where should a complete beginner start?
  • Are there any recommended courses or creators worth following?
  • What traffic sources worked best for you (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc..) ads?
  • How did your first few campaigns go — profitable, break-even, or total loss?

I’m not looking for “get rich quick” stuff — just honest guidance from people who’ve been in the trenches. Any tips, beginner mistakes to avoid, or advice on how to structure the learning path would be really appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Depending on the affiliate offer you are promoting
One Shure way of handling such setup is to have a list system in place
That's a way to collect contacts basically
As for the best traffic sources

Google
Meta
Microsoft
And maybe tiktok
Reddit works too if you already know the game

I would advise you check your niche and match that with the most likely platforms as seen above

Meta and tiktok usually give the fastest feedback for beginners. Avoid jumping between platforms or pushing expensive offers too early most first campaigns arent profitable, thats normal.

Start by dedicating a small test budget ($500-$1000) to master a single traffic source like Meta Ads, using only proven affiliate offers from networks like MaxBounty or ClickBank, and expect your first 5-10 campaigns to lose money as you learn to optimize for profit through rigorous tracking and creative split-testing.

unfortunately, I didn't choose a niche.
Do you have a recommendation for a beginner?

If you’re brand new to paid ads + affiliate offers, the best thing you can do is start simple and focus on one traffic source. Trying to learn everything at once is what overwhelms most beginners.
For me, the easiest starting point was Meta Ads. The learning curve is smoother, and you can test cheap. TikTok Ads are great too, but they’re more volatile. Google is powerful, but harder for beginners because you need proper keyword strategy and landing pages.
In terms of learning: you don’t need expensive courses. A couple of free YouTubers explaining real campaigns are more than enough. What helped me early on was following people who actually show testing, not motivational hype.
My first few campaigns? Total loss. Then some break-even. That’s normal. The biggest mistake beginners make is expecting profit right away. The real “skill” is learning how to test creatives, read data, and slowly cut the losers.
If you stick to one platform, test small, and don’t panic when things don’t work instantly, you’ll learn way faster than trying to juggle five traffic sources at once.

Where should beginners start?

• Choose 1 platform – maximum 2, don’t try too many. Easiest to start:

Meta Ads (Facebook/Instagram) — cheap traffic, easy to test, easy to scale.

Google Search — stable conversion, suitable for products with high intent.

• Learn how to analyze Offers before learning to run ads. 60% of success or failure lies in choosing the right offer + funnel.

Check EPC, CR, payout, geo, compliance.

See what top publishers are running (AdSpy, PPAD, BigSpy…).

• Focus on testing & optimizing:

Test creative → test audience → test landing page → scale budget.

Always follow the model: hypothesis → implementation → measurement → adjustment.

Start small with a single platform and focus on learning the basics. Tracking results carefully is more important than chasing big profits at first.
