I have a digital digital marketing website and I have 2 keywords which are transactional and landed me 40k traffic however I rebuilt my website and now the traffic is gone.

I am rebuilding the pages as we speak however my concern is from 40k traffic I got no conversions. No one even made an enquiry?

Is this normal? Someone please enlighten me

work on titles, h1's and h2's, also alt tags.

Did you change the content or just the design of the website? Maybe you are using poor AI generated content?

No I rebuilt the whole website so the pages were deleted. There are now 404, but I know if I rebuild the pages I will get the traffic.

I only checked two days ago and realised I was getting that much traffic.

That is not my concern my concern is I had no emails or conversions. Is this normal with this kind of trafffic ?

40,000 traffic from where?

And when did you rebuild the website?

The Google Search Console image you shared shows 125 clicks in the past 12 months.

Basically this is a web dev agency website.

The keywords where something like “logo design” and “web design”

The traffic was from Google, it says I have 125 clicks but I didn’t get anyone filling in my enquiry form and enquiring about my services.

Sorry when I say 40traffic I mean impressions I am new to this forgive me haha

Does impressions not mean people looking at the page? Or is impressions when people see your website on Google?

To be more precise, your website only received 125 clicks from Google — that's not a particularly impressive number, so it's understandable that you're not getting any conversions. Keep developing it and focus more on the important keywords.

Gotcha, that makes a lot more sense

Take a look at the keyword report in GSC and you'll see which keywords people used to find your website, this will help you optimize your pages.

125 clicks is not a large enough number to determine whether your website is converting well or not.

Also, take a look at your analytics to determine which pages the visitors landed on, which pages they visited, how long they stayed on your website, which pages they exited from, etc.

For a web dev agency, you may want to consider placing a small contact form on each page, or in the sidebar.

Yes tbh when I built the website I did not take it seriously. However I believe after these small results if I implement what you have said I should see some good conversions.

Thanks for your speedy replies

125 visitors is not a lot.

Also, what's your offer?

What was your design like?

Where you sending them to a landing page or just a page on your website ?

Do you have a portfolio, do you have reviews from 3rd party sights, do you have a great offer....

There could be many reasons as to why you didn't any leads.

Yes I assumed 40,000 was the visitors but I understand 125 is not a lot.

My designs are above average I am a front end developer. I am just getting my head around SEO and search console.

I was sending them to a landing page but it was more like a blog style landing page without a contact form and not many CTA.

I do have a portfolio but what I need to do is add more CTA, add more Google reviews, and have contact form on each page.

Maybe keep your blog post, but have anchor links (CPA) buttons and maybe even ads that all funnel the traffic to a simple clean landing page like the one posted in the video. KISS

Low conversions from high traffic often means the keywords weren’t intent-aligned. Rebuild with stronger CTAs, clearer offers, and ensure the traffic is actually buyer-intent, not informational.

40,000 traffic from transactional keywords in your niche - and zero enquiries/conversions - Yes. Something is very, very wrong.
