For some reason my harvesting seems to stop every time I reach about 30 000 links even though I'm not even half way through the keyword list. If I remove some of the keywords and press "start harvesting" it continues so there's no problem with the proxies. It stops after about 50-60 minutes so there seems to be a time limit or amount of links limit.

Any suggestions?

Hmmm....that is odd...I've run harvests that have been upwards of 500k results, so....

No offence intended, but I'm not sure I follow your logic that removing some keywords and pressing start harvesting working means there is no problem with your proxies...I'm not saying for sure it's your proxies, but a lot of harvesting issues I've seen have been due to proxies getting burnt.

When it stops, do you have status codes for each of the search engines (right-hand column of the results window that is seen while it is harvesting)? If so, what are the status codes?

After reading the well-written instructions, I was able to use a few custom footprints to track down a large number of WPMU sites very quickly. The ability to order them by PR was pretty cool if for no other reason than having a point-of-reference to compare them quickly against one another.

There have been numerous arguments and discussions about the value of nofollow backlinks in this thread and elsewhere on bhw. My two $dollarsCAD:

1 - a backlink is a backlink (nofollow links may be worth *less* than others, but still...)
2 - I would rather have a backlink on a high-PR nofollow site than a low-PR site that doesn't use nofollow.

I got a recurrent problem with the comment poster. At first I thought it was because I used free proxies, but now that I have my private proxies, I dont know what to do :

absolutely no comment will post, whether on wordpress or blog engine. The most "funny" part is that the error message I often get is : "field not found". But when I go the url, the field is right in front of me.

Do you guys have encountered this issue? Do you know how to fix it please?

sweetfunny, could you please add an option for scrapebox to open the urls we harvest in tabs in the internal browser like pr backlinks generator? And so that it fills the name/website/email fields for us as well?

in case you haven't seen it search bhw for "pr backlinks generator"

I personally rather do manual comments so that my comments stick but with scrapebox that option is just lacking. I have to open up every single url myself and fill out the name/website field etc.

If you can't have scrapebox do tabs like backlinks generator maybe if you could add an option so that we could select the urls we want from the harvester (maybe adding a checkbox next to them or something) and maybe add a button for scrapebox to open all those urls in tabs in our default browser. That would save us a lot of time.

Have you considered using the manual commenter? It will even fill in the blanks for you if you like and you can change the comment to what you like.

You would just need to push the pages you want down into the commenter. I would think with it auto filling some of the forms for you, you would probably save as much time with auto fill as it would cost you to move the urls to the commenter section too.

I would first suggest you try and spend some time learning about **************** wordpress blogs and how to find them. There are way more of them then you think.

Second even nofollow links are good to have, plus to that end they are not only good to have you NEED them! Yes you need them, no natural website has only **************** links and google knows that. If you don't have a good ammount of nofollow links, G knows your spamming your own links.

Wordpress is still a dominate player and will likely be that way for a long time.

1. Let's say I comment on 100 blogs to leave my link. In order for google to notice my comments and my link in those blogs (to index them if i'm not mistaken) I need to use the ping feature right? If not how long does it usually take for google to notice them without me pinging them?

2. In the "sites-to-ping.txt" file am I supposed to put those same urls that I harvested/later commented on and ping them? Or am I supposed to ping something else?

3. I watched the youtube videos on the scrapebox channel and noticed that he pinged the sites that came with the "sites-to-ping.txt" file. What purpose does this serve if he's pinging sites he didn't leave a link on and are not even related to his niche?

Yes, in slow mode. Actually it works for wordpress in fast mode now at around 50%. So its ok here.

But slow mode comments for any platform always show the "field not found" or "failed timeout" error code. Any advice plz?

On 1 - loops may have a different opinion, but I prefer not to ping my backlinks. I think the search engines finding them "organically" over time looks more natural to goog etc. But YMMV and obviously you can do whatever you want.

On 2 - sites-to-ping.txt is where you put your links you want pinged; website.txt is where you put the "referrers" (you can just use big sites like various web 2.0 properties or any other site that generates a lot of referrals on the interwebs)

And I think that also answers question 3.
