I also had Chrome on Android showing a popup about AdBlock, even though none was enabled. Clearing the browser cache and disabling “Lite Mode” (if active) helped. Another tip is to check in Chrome settings → Site Settings → JavaScript and Popups to make sure nothing is blocked there for the forum site. Sometimes it also helps to temporarily set up a different profile in Chrome or use a browser like Brave, as you mentioned. Sounds like a site bug that is triggered even without actual ad blocking.

Thanks for checking. No, it still doesn't work. I tried incognito mode and the popup asking to disable an ad blocker still appears even though I'm not using one. I don't want to clear my browser data, so for now I'm accessing the forum with Brave without issues. Any other suggestions for Chrome on Android?
I think unless you're willing to clear cookies/browser data to give it a go then what you're doing is best. Maybe you can try getting a hold of someone else's phone and try there to see if it works?
