Hey everyone, quick question: Is it necessary to add an alt text after naming the image, or does the image naming itself not matter as much, with the focus being on the alt text instead?

Most of the "Technical SEO" elements are nowadays completely overrrated

There was a time whre watching this kind of videos was somehow annoying and enjoyable at the same time.

The reality is that whatever s**t you find about setting your page in good shape for ranking in Google, is not valid anymore.

Nowadays, a combination of authority/reputation and context (and we don't know for sure if BERT is anymore ruling the SERPs or if they have upgraded to a new LLM, which seems likely)

So imagine how useful could be setting an "alt image" in this new paradigm. Probably most of the images are being recognized and classified on the fly.

For example, I queried Google for "waterproof smartphone"

And I got this image as a the #1 result from this article https://www.cnet.com/tech/mobile/ho...apple-iphone-7-samsung-galaxy-s7-sony-xperia/

The alt is: iphone-7-pool-tests-water-splash-0072.jpg
Which seems to be exactly the same as the image name with all the slashes.

It's obvious that Google can't care less about alt images anymore.
