Google Play at its best. I have an old Google Play developer account (maybe 2-3 years old). There is one app published on the account. But unfortunately, I lost access to the account (gmail, auth, etc.) and couldn't verify it on time.
Now here is the interesting thing: They first sent me an email saying the verification is overdue and they gave me a time window to make it.
but
one day later I received an termination email:
Status:
Your Developer account remains terminated due to prior violations of the
Developer Program Policiesand
Developer Distribution Agreement by this or associated, previously terminated Google Play Developer accounts.
Please do not attempt to register a new developer account. Any new accounts will be closed, and your developer registration fee will not be refunded.
Guys, you can say whatever you want, but this is a god damn joke.
Even the way they formulated this "by this or associated, previously terminated Google Play Developer accounts" is a joke itself. Basically they can and will do whatever they want to you, without any reason at all.
So after 2-3 years of NO PROBLEMS and never a single app removed, suspended (i only had one app) they suddenly said I violated their ToS and terminated the account. The previous time window they gave me to verify the account (which I wouldn't have done anyway) didn't matter anymore.
Do not trust Google. Do not put all your eggs in one basket. Imagine this would have been my money making account....imagine I would have had apps on there that makes me 5 figures. It would all be gone just because someone (or an AI?) made the decision to terminated the account for some bullshit intransparent reason
