How to absolutely *bury* a competitor in SERP?

Hi guys,

There's a physical product that I've worked on for the past 6 months, and it's pretty much ready to go.

But I just discovered that a competitor in a different country has my exact same name, with a very similar product.

Currently when you search for the name, his website shows up first (because my store isn't online yet). But once I go live, I don't even want him on the first page (or at least remove him asap).

What can I do to bury him from the first SERP?

Kind regards,
me

Pointless waste of time.

Energy spent trying to hold a competitor back is much better spent improving your own product and marketing.

@AndersL
find some threads how people manage their pbn networks on bhw. i've seen a few. some webmasters go to extreme lengths and use different gmail / residential proxy / web server / and even registrar for each property, to maintain maximum separation to avoid detection. then i saw one thread, a guy on here had 400+ sites all on the same google search console account, which demonstrated none of that evasion stuff is really necessary. at least in his scope.

like most things in internet marketing. up to you to test. do it one way. if it doesn't work as desired, do it another way.

I don't think that what you want to do can be answered here. Negative SEO is disallowed here. You can outrank him of course if you want to show up first.

Damn Thank you for the clue, I will definitely check that out!

When I wrote the post I was in a more stressed mood. But also wanted to make the post more polar to see what people would reply. As mentioned tho, the more white hat the better due to the longevity of the results (I'd think at least?). So will prob just try to do something like that. Maybe a few blogs, but nothing crazy. Appreciate your input nevertheless

100% agree. Doesn't hurt to check the possibilities tho, this post has taken up less than 1% of my days

Do your homework the best you can and accept that you'll share the traffic with that site.
