Black Hat SEO or White Hat SEO?

You can go with gray-hat SEO (a combination of white-hat and black-hat SEO). Both methods have some pros and cons. White-hat SEO is a little bit safer in penalties compared to black-hat SEO, but it takes more time or effort to rank on top. Blackhat SEO method can rank your keyword top in short term, but it's risky too. So try to go with a combination of those; that would be a better option.
How many time is required if I follow white Hat methods

For your pet food website, White Hat SEO is definitely the better choice. Although it takes time, it will lead to sustainable and long-term growth, build trust with your audience, and avoid penalties from Google that could harm your website’s reputation.

I recommend you to try both black hat and white-hat SEO for better results. Also, you should publish high quality articles on your website with relevant keywords.

There’s no definitive timeline for seeing results. In fact, no one can predict it exactly. SEO is all about ongoing work and optimization (OWO).

If your niche is about pet food, I recommend focusing on WH SEO first. If you don't see any change in rankings, then consider other options.

W
white hat SEO = do what google tells you to do
black hat SEO = do what you can to rank (even if google - almost always - disapproves of it)

The problem is that google penalizes both WH and BH sites, so if you're using WH (as in, wait for people to link back to you) you'll grow beard and die of old age until google ranks you (and even if they rank you, they'll still target you with future updates, so it's just as unsafe as BH)

And the problem with BH is that your rankings are short-lived (up to 6 months at most), after which you get caught, deindexed, and never rank that domain ever again as google now blacklists domains they don't like. And they probably don't like 90% of the domains...

I think the best option is to go Grey Hat (as in, you still build links manually - which counts as Black Hat - but you do it at a safe pace, to avoid getting picked up by google's spam filters).

grey hat, like I mentioned above

well, this is tricky and requires you to first:

- understand the niche
- analyze your competition's strengths and weaknesses and capitalize on their weaknesses....

Usually, nowadays it comes down to authority. Google loves authoritative sites, which means sites with either high DA / DR scores, or high popularity in their niche, or both.

So, if you're not a big site in your niche (which you probably aren't), then your best bet is to focus on authority, both normal authority (DA / DR) and topical authority (covering your niche - pet food - in great detail).

Of course, there would be a lot more to explain about how to approach the ranking of your site, but it will be time consuming to explain everything here, so you either need to do research yourself, or hire someone to do:

- site + niche audit
- competitor analysis
- niche + keyword research
- site structuring and technical SEO
- content plan and link building plan

You'll have to probably pour $1000s into these things combined if you want to hire an expert, so be ready to spend if you go the paid route! You can hire someone from here to do these for you:

considering the competition nowadays, i say you need both, a good mix. otherwise it can take a long time to rank. figure out where the issues are (analyticlly) and then see how you can improve those issues, if it's BH, then do BH or the opposite.

White hat SEO can help you have a long-term stable ranking and avoid being penalized by search engines.

If you are building a business for long-term, focus on WH Seo. Here are some tips:

* You may want to start with keyword research (Identify Core Keywords, Long-Tail Keywords). Optimize your content strategy using these keywords.
* On-Page SEO (Title Tags and Meta Descriptions, Use header tags - H1, H2, H3, etc.)
* Ensure your website is mobile-responsive
* Optimize your website’s load time by compressing images, leveraging browser caching, and minimizing JavaScript
* Create and submit an XML sitemap to search engines to help them crawl your site more effectively
* Use a robots.txt file to guide search engines on which pages to crawl and index
* Off-Page SEO (Backlinks, Social Signals)
* Use Google Search Console to monitor your site’s performance, check for crawl errors, and see which keywords are driving traffic

black is get manupulated and rank top in few days site becomes trash
white is longterm slow ranking but steady the rank

Observe what techniques your competitors are using. I don't think there are many grey sites in the pet food niche.

White Hat SEO is the recommended approach as it focuses on ethical and sustainable practices that align with search engine guidelines and prioritize user experience.

White Hat seo is the safe, long term method using quality content and ethical tactics. Black Hat SEO is risky and can get your site penalized. For your new pet food site, Go with white Hat SEO to build trust and rank steadily.
