Traffic Drop in GSC after Adsense Added?

Could be my Adsense account has issues?

Below is a GSC snapshot of a new site we are working on. Strangely we notice twice that each time we submit site for Adsense approval and insert the Adsense code in our website, the traffic tends to drop and keep on drop.

This Adsense account is 20 years+ account and has no records of blacklisted on any other issues. Its our own account which been making money previously and dormant for nearly 10 years and active now for the past 1 year+.

Anyone face similar situations before? Any suggestions like should we get a fresh Adsense account, etc?

I don't think Google would drop your traffic for using one of their products. Could be core updates during the time you add adsense ads to your blog.

Thought so, but seems traffic increase after we removed the Adsense code and again the same trend. So makes us wondering. Anyway will monitor further...

The only SEO problem that you can face while using Adsense for your money site is getting worse page speed & UX,
Usually when you're using too many ads and/or your website is loading slow enough to cause the problem,

In your case, ads are not even showing, so no, it's not cause of the problem,
It's just correlation of the drops/updates and the added code(s) to the website

Yes, I believe if the website has too many ads in a page, it does flag google as spammy. I heard the rule of thumb is maximium 3 ads in a page, anything more pretty much makes your website look spammy and Google doesnt like it

I think you may overdone with the ad placements and it will affect both the user experience and the loading speed of your website. You need to check and optimize the pages to increase the loading speed. Also, make sure that ads are placed in the right place that won't affect the user experience.

Will consider that for future mistakes to avoid but as of now we only inserted the adsense code to verify ownership. the ads not yet in place since site pending adsense approval.

Am I right in reading this as you added your Adsense account to your blog on 30/7/24, before the drop?

If so, what caused the sharp rise in late July ahead of the Adsense code being added to that blog? Was it added to other sites?

It looks like the graph is saying you're using the same code on multiple websites. If so, could it be something that happened on one of the other sites?

If you haven't already, check Analytics / webstats for traffic to the other sites that had the code to confirm which site(s) you're running the Adsense code on had the traffic drop.

I would install a heat map and see how your website is performing after adding the snippet.

I've been reading that people who have ads currently on their website are experiencing a decrease in traffic after the Google Core update, but that really doesn't make much sense. I doubt that Google would lower their potential for advertisers by doing this.

Most likely, it is a performance issue causing higher bounce rates or metrics that Google does not like.

Could be update so far get some on site optimization or some quality backlinks
