Pet insurance is a ripoff

Never had any insurance on my dogs or cats, it is a gamble. But people tend to have insurance for some peace of mind same as they have to large insurances than they often need on their homes, cars, boats and so on. It is all up to how you value your peace of mind.

Care to elaborate? Don't have it personally, but did hear from a close friend how it actually paid off to have his dog insured.

I looked into pet insurance years ago. The issues I found with it were that very few vets in my area accepted any kind of "pet insurance" and it was too limited in terms of what issues it covered. I suppose that describes most insurance policies over here in the US, though.

Besides human insurance, do you believe that it will help you in the long run.

While reading BI article regarding this, I found that one of the insurance taker is quoting,

"We thought it would save us money in the long run if we got it, but then they would refute claims and say, 'Well, this could have been a preexisting condition,' and preexisting conditions aren't covered," Papini said. "You need extra vet paperwork to back up that it wasn't. And so then you just get to a point where you're jumping through so many hoops."
