Pet insurance is a ripoff

Besides human insurance, do you believe that it will help you in the long run.

While reading BI article regarding this, I found that one of the insurance taker is quoting,

"We thought it would save us money in the long run if we got it, but then they would refute claims and say, 'Well, this could have been a preexisting condition,' and preexisting conditions aren't covered," Papini said. "You need extra vet paperwork to back up that it wasn't. And so then you just get to a point where you're jumping through so many hoops."

SO, Are you interested in pet insurance? (As I know there are lots of pet lovers here in BHW) Did you try it before, if so, then please share your experiences, was it good or bad?

I don't even think pet insurance exists in my country lol, but then again medicine is pretty cheap here. If I was in the U.S. I would be afraid to have a cold let alone a pet.

Yes, I know. but yes there are also opposite things, where pets are considered more than family, you know.

Invest your money in Disney Plus. Insurance is useless and expensive. Insurance companies aren't running charities that they will give away there fortune to poor people who can't afford to pay hospital bills. Insurance of any form is a rip-off.

We had 3 dogs at one period of time, super cute little guys, and we had insurance for them.

To me, it was worth it as it saved us money in the long run.

People health insurance does the same thing in a lot of instances and I don't see that as a rip off either.

Sure, the insurance companies bank like there is no tomorrow, just ask Warren Buffet the owner of Geico, but I don't care if they are profiting as long as I get some bang for my buck.

I think it is absolutely necessary to have pet insurance.

My dog had a blood transfusion, he was ill, the blood transfusion and the operation cost 5000 euros. The saddest thing is that the dog finally died, the treatment didn't help(.

The insurance partially covered the costs.

I live in Finland, where pet health care is very expensive.

One of my clients is a pet insurance company, and they are known for paying claims really fast and approving a huge percentage of the claims.
My contact there told me that the younger the pet is when its first insured, the cheaper the insurance is and the more likely your claims to be approved because your pet have less preexisting conditions. Exactly as it is with humans.

So this brings up a good question. I have a cat and have had cats before, but I never had insurance. Does it go by state, or is there a company someone from the US here uses or highly recommends as my cat is getting older and, therefore, more bills?

same rules apply in most country's - the younger the animal
is insured at, the lower the yearly fees go up unless theres a claim.

if your animal has any ongoing issues, a regular policy wont work
you would need a policy covering pre existing conditions
there expensive but worth it

pet insurance are a lie, are like a subscription you are charge every time but when is time to use it, it doesn't work at all, that exist just to take your money and they usally cover a few things and they say no.

Never had any insurance on my dogs or cats, it is a gamble. But people tend to have insurance for some peace of mind same as they have to large insurances than they often need on their homes, cars, boats and so on. It is all up to how you value your peace of mind.
