You should wait. They clearly said that this core update will be different to others in a way that various "systems" that rule the ranking algorithm at Google will update in succession. And they said it would take a month.
Most likely one of the systems has already updated, and this results (at least based on what you suggest) in Reddit getting even bigger visibility. However, updates to some other "systems" that rule the algorithm may push reddit down.
I think that unless we talk about the AI shit and expired domains getting caught and receiving manual penalties (such things are not going to get reversed, regardless of how long the rollout takes), for the final ranking of all other results in SERPs we will really have to wait until the end of the rollout of the update this time...
This is something much bigger. They have changed their definition of spam in an attempt to shrink their index.

I think one of the big lines everyone is missing is this one. "This could include sites created primarily to match very specific search queries." This is ppa/mass content. But they are straight out saying if all you do is target frequently asked questions or topics you are spam, regardless of how good your content is.
When they say they are going to " reduce low-quality, unoriginal content in search results by 40%." they mean deindex 40% of sites, and there will be no recovery. This is way more than just another update.

Looks like I've been killed off today - traffic has dropped to basically zero
4 year old site ( country .org domain) domain is over 20 years old
2 ai posts out of 170 that had been carefully modified
all niche relevant - travel and tourism
no spammy backlink tactics
no blackhat
Site is still indexed, but how much longer will that last.....
Pretty gutted, this was a labour of love, I might not of been pumping out on Social Media, doing enough outreach for backlinks but still it was outranking big sites on good keywords, good/decent content, good internal linking and was, I like to think a nicely structured site......
Don't know what to think now, do I wait until the end of the month, do I create out more content targeting long tail keywords, move over to Social Media or something else - feel a bit deflated really

As I've said in my previous reply here, this update is different to any former Google core update. As long as you do not see manual penalty in your GSC account, there is certainly some hope that your rankings will come back until the end of March (as more of the Google ranking systems update, over the duration of the update rollout).
Sure, it isn't guaranteed they will improve, but it is certainly possible in this scenario. I hope for the best for you!

I think that google wants internet made of reddit, quora, forbes, facebook, youtube and few other large sites, and to shut off everything else...

Thanks - I'm not one to wallow in self pity, had my 15 minutes of it yesterday.

So, I have one of those "still indexed but lost practically all rankings" sites.
I cannot submit pages to manually index (they are not deindexed yet, but I tested this just to see what would happen).
Sometimes I reload a serp page and my site appears back in number 1 spot, most of the time this doesnt happen at all.
I really dont know what to think, normally sites jumping around in updates aint that crazy, but google added the right
level of colorful language / propaganda in this one to make things feel so out of place.
This site has used AI to help with the content but it is heavily manually edited, it isnt an ai spam site in the pure sense.......
Not much black hat was used on it, the only traits I think it has that other sites dont, is fast growth in traffic and was doing around
1.5 posts a day..... which even before AI wasnt that crazy of a number. It is also extremely young, but on a fresh domain.
It is "SEO ed" in the sense that it answers search questions related to the business....... but how the heck else do you create content if google will
force you to tip toe around so hard?
Selling christmas trees? welp, guess you cant answer how much they cost, make a buyers guide, compare it to artificial ones etc etc etc
because that would mean you are creating content to attract clicks on search for your business........ go fuck yourself google.

That being said, and maybe im coping, but the way I see some sites behaving without manual penalties etc, sort of reminds me of
october through nov when many pages were disappearing from the top 100 and by the end of the 2 months, most everything for my sites
returned back to normal and I stopped following it. So maybe this is just some errors that will self correct?
Or maybe this is them refining last years efforts to kill small businesses.
Was helping a family friend make their first site (pure white hat and hand written with their own eeat) It just reached 1k visits in a whole month.....
today, it cant be found for any keyword without directly using its name.

So relax. Why also would you check your stats in ahrefs @ a core update? Use search console or analytics?

I just posted a reply adressing this....
anyways, I had already seen my GSC and it didnt look much different, down from
4k plus to just over 1.5 k in a single day. I didnt initially see any reason in my head to think the ahrefs was wrong.
Ive been trying to avoid posting my GSCs recently for privacy reasons, but the traffic drops etc are not something id just lie about
when they do nothing but make me and my methods look bad, I just try to be honest with what im seeing and I CAN be wrong.

If you haven't read Google's spam update policy I would read it.
Specifically the bit about getting backlinks from 100% AI generated sites. Which is most of the packages you buy on here.

Be careful going forward.
I am going to stop getting these links and focus on sites that only have traffic and rankings. More costly but less risky.
