I am working on a client site that belongs to the packaging niche. We create new content for major pages and optimize it accordingly. It was going well till September 2023 since then we have witnessed a huge drop in overall ranking and keywords every month. We lost almost 50% of traffic and keywords despite new human-written content we are not doing anything wrong we are following Google guidelines but still we are declining. Please suggest something that can help me in rescuing.

It may hit with the algorithm updates. You need to check your webmaster tool, conduct a site audit, and identify the reason for the drop in traffic. If you find any issues, sort them out. Also, check your competitors and follow their strategies. Update the articles and build quality links from relevant websites.

Would be hard to pinpoint to the exact issue without seeing the site.

A few to start:
  1. Make sure you don't deindex the site by accident.
  2. Make sure none of your pages are blocking Google from crawling.
  3. No server errors.
  4. No excessive amount of 404s.
  5. No overoptimisation aka keywords stuffing.
  6. no spammy content.
  7. No spammy links.
  8. is the website under negative SEO?
  9. is my content adding any value or just pumping out for no reason?
  10. are my websites following EEAT? Am I showing my clients as an experts in this field?
  11. Are my competitors doing anything particularly differently compared to my clients?
  12. What sort of content are now ranking top 10? and who? and why?
These are just a few on tops of my head.
