charon is very reputable (if a bit aged) and gives you a lot of info about proxies - apekillape has an excellent tut on how to use it - you might wanna start with that

there's other decent apps out there for testing proxies

you might also wanna check out portalweb's online proxy tester, I played with it for a few minutes the other day

just out of curiousity - what do you mean by "just made my own private proxies"?

erm what i mean is that i bought some dedicated ips for my server and configured it into highly anonymous , so i would like to check it out before using for scrapebox

I use this everyday, many times a day and it works great for me.

The only issue Im having that I really didnt want to scrape through 95 pages of posts to see if it was listed here is that when using my "multi-threaded harvbester" I get absolutely no results from google, everytime.

Im willing to bet the issue is me but I just cant figure it out.

Also I am having the issue posting to blogengine blogs as well.

v1.14.3 Uploaded

* The "M" merge will join search operators such as inurl:
* The "M" merge accepts tokens %KW% in the footprint file
* Search Results number seperator removed to prevent localization issues (1,000/1.000)
* Link Checker now checks for domains with and without trailing slash which could cause many URL's to be not found
* When Decatpcher.com is down/overloaded ScrapeBox will retry login on every URL.
* Custom Timeout timers in fast poster using CPU tick counter.

Ok let me explain the "M" merge a little, if you have the following keywords in the ScrapeBox keyword box:

Code:
black
white

If you hit the "M" to load a footprint file and it contains this:
Code:
"powered by wordpress"
intitle:%KW%
intitle:%KW% inurl:%KW%

The outcome will be:
Code:
"powered by wordpress" black
"powered by wordpress" white
intitle:black
intitle:white
intitle:black inurl:black
intitle:white inurl:white

I hope that makes sense, if not just experiment with it.

Access violation at address 006D00B5 in module 'scrapebox.exe'. Read of address 000000E4.

I keep getting the same error while commenting and it crashes. Please address this, thank you.

Please try the new build. The problem occurs because the timeout for a connection is reached, at the exact nanosecond it is marked finished because it's successful. So there's 2 outcomes for the same connection at the same second. The new version uses the CPU tick as a custom socket timer, so it may fix it.

Were you never a noob, although I agree it is a good product for the money?

I tried linkdomain:www.yourcompetitor.com with Yahoo and link:.... for Google as recommended by the author. If I use no keywords with the footprint I get no results. If I put say 3 keywords from the site of the competitor the Yahoo and Google scrape goes through 3 cycles and finds no more than 50 links and then stops. If I put 10 keywords it goes through 10 cycles but still only comes up with 50 unique links.

This is despite the competitor having 5000 Yahoo links and me entering a request for 1000 results. Am I doing something wrong?

This update is fucking sweet! I love it and I'm glad that I was one of your very first customers. No one can beat your customer's services :) Just 1 word Genius.

@hategoogle: Everyone was a noob before. But noobs that pay to learn is a big difference from these stupid noobs always think they're GOD and bitch about everything.

is it true maximum url to harvest is only 1k in 1 run ?

i'm newbie at scrapebox :)

@boiler: maximum urls = 1k per query mate (this is not scrapebox limitation, it's search engine 's limitations). You can add alot of keywords and footprints inside and you're ready to rock!

I was having this same issue for a while and stumbled on an odd solution by mistake. Are
you running rather large keyword files through scrapebox? I noticed when I ran a large number
of keywords through it and used the multi-thread harvester it would just HANG indefinately.
Not crash or error, just kinda chill out and do nothing.

I started mousing over the menu tabs at the top and opening and closing the menus for whatever
reason one day while it was frozen and all of a sudden the harvestor kicked into action. Now I
do it all the time, in fact when running large keyword files I can't get it to initiate the "harvesting"
without doing that little menu dance.

I know it sounds crazy but I swear it works everytime for me :)

1k from google per request. This means each keyword can get up to 1k and when you use more than one footprint its 1k per footprint * number of keywords. + all the results from the other searchengines...

@SF

Thanks for putting in the Keywordplaceholder...

How are users finding the proxy pool?

It seemed to run much better when I was running it through HideMyIP Premium than when I use the proxy pool. Might have to go shopping for some private proxies.

When you are using this option are you checking the Custom Footprint option or are you using WP, BE or MT option. In the older versions the custom footprint in the box is not used unless custom footprint is ticked.

With the new update you can use the new 'M' merge option to allow the keywords to be used or simply the footprint

Youre a hero! I had the same problem. You know what? Exactly 8 minutes after starting SB starts to establish connections. I thought I have to wait until SF fix this but your tip is golden... With it it starts immediately. No more waiting 8 minutes until start at each run...
Thanks!

I figure I'd share some my SB practices.

First off, I keep a document named "outsidethesb" where I paste any good tidbit of information. It's continually growing and saves me from having to be like "where the hell did I find that thread on BHW???" Make your own tip guide.

Second, here are a few basic ones just to throw out there for any noobs looking for a few hints.
- when possible, use emails from blog posters who have real gravatars. If you use a gravatar associated email in the name field, the moderator will probably think you're a real person.
- Take time to write comments that are relative to your target. I have a "supergeneric" comments file that's more for anything, but I always take time to harvest some blogs, read the types of comments, and copy/paste/spin them up. Use that spyntax!
- Private proxies help when posting. Period.

I hit 80-90% successful on a good run and at worst maybe 50%.

OH, one more thing. Stop bugging Sweetfunny with so many ridiculous questions that have been answered over and over!!

I just bought scrapebox but the problem is the mass commenter didn't work for me. I tried to posts on 180 blog sites but even 1 didn't succeed. Maybe something I've done wrong? I watched all the tutorial videos and followed the instructions can somebody help me.

great irie08! Thank you for saving my words!

Private proxy wise. Say I buy .. 10 private proxies. Will they die out like the free ones?

Not so much die out as they could (and likely will, eventually) get 'burnt' - recognised by certain spam filters if they are used a fair amount. Burnt proxies sometimes get resurrected...after awhile...kind of like zombies.

There's a fair amount of chat in this thread, and in the Proxies sub-forum, about proxies. Poke around a bit, and feel free to PM if you want my free advice.
