Will Elementor disappear as a standalone plugin?

Hello all,

As we all know Elementor is most popular page builder in the industry right now, with huge market share, low price and regular upgrades, they did grow into become a giant.

Recently, i came across a tweet, in future Elementor will disappear as a standalone plugin, go into their own CMS platform to compete with Block editor.

There is possibility to this idea, that Elementor will become their own CMS platform, because of their numbers are growing, regular changes, and high development activities.

I found it interesting, because lot of us depend on Elementor solely, because its very handy and faster, but what do you think happen if the stand alone plugin disappear>?

Whats your better alternative and why? Is it good to depend on one page builder?

Who in their right mind uses Elementor anyway these days when the Gutenberg editor offers so much standards like FSE and a humongous amount of blocks. Go with the standard stuff in WordPress instead.

Elementor is terrible company. they started with unlimited sites for 149$ per year then down graded to 1000 sites then to 25 sites.
I still got 1000 sites (got grandfathered in).

Gutenberg relies on the rest of the WordPress ecosystem, such as themes and plugins. While you can get most of the same features as Elementor, you’ll need to find a specific separate plugin for that functionality. You have to add more plugin / buy it to get this options.

Sure, but Gutenberg is the most future proof editor since it is a part of WordPress. You can build those blocks your-self and not be depending on third party developers.

I agree, it will be the future of page builder since it comes with Wordpress Ecosystem, and most plugins / themes have to adapt to this builder soon or later.

I haven't heard of Ollie, thanks for sharing it! I hate Elementor, no idea why but I always try to find an alternative, or code the theme myself haha. Ollie sounds like a good option for when I have no time to code.

The tweet is stupid not all people want to use block editors and they will not end up being the only thing that is left. People enjoy freedom of choice and every other person has different habbits and wants thing done they own way.

As per his tweet, he is not saying elementor will move to CMS right away but its good to be cautious and think ahead. Elementor is a growing business, and they will pivot to be big soon or later. The thread talks about why Elementor plugin is here to stay even if they go to their own CMS.

Yes, Elementor has flexibility, intuitive.
