Hello guys,
I read a couple of threads on Reddit saying they were bringing in 10k to 30k pageviews per day to their website just by targeting low-competition keywords using AI-generated content. so I was like, let's actually run a script and see if they're lying or are they actually making $$$ just using AI.
My final goal is to debunk the mystery of AI and answer the million-dollar question:

Does AI content actually rank and make money or is everyone just bullshitting to make you pay for their scripts.

The plan is:

1/ Write a Python script to connect to ChatGPT and generate content
2/ Write a script to connect to WordPress REST API and upload the content automatically
3/ Do a warm-up period where I only upload ~500 pages a day, and then ramp it up to 1000s per day

Where I'm at right now:

I will be as transparent as possible here and will try to document any progress here. Will even share the niche here.
So far what I've done:
1/ I had decided on the niche and domain - the niche is very templatable: Legit/scam reviews! meaning, for each article I will write a short text explaining if X company is legit or a scam (e.g is PayPal legit or scam, is Zalando legit or scam)
2/ I have written the Python script and WP API connection
3/ I have gathered a shit ton of keywords (company names/brand names)
4/ I have decided on the template

I just started running the script! Let the party begin.

Oooh have we got some mutual interests...

How are you managing to come up with the content for 500 - 1k pages a day if you don't mind me asking bossman?
I mean, if I put my content creation script on full whack there can be 1,950 articles created in a day of CPU going towards content creation alone - but my other scripts have got to run!

Interesting, will be following. Thanks for the post.

I tested a couple of prompts with ChatGPT and figured out which one works best.
Now I'm running the script. For each company name (keyword) it calls OpenAI APIs, it takes less than 5 seconds to generate each article (I use the gpt-3.5-turbo-0301 model), and since I'm using APIs, my PC isn't really the bottleneck.
So far it's cost me $0.17 for ~300 articles.

How long are the articles your creating? Are they of the quality level you'd want?
I've got access to text-davinci-003 and have been creating ~40 very nice articles @ $2.15, they're very workable and are regularly 700-1k words...

Goal this end is to use a method I have of crafting topical keyword lists of 6k-25k long tails and to split the niche into sections;

In your case it'd be your legit/scam reviews, effectiveness of the brand, is brand better than brand - all to push easy internal and external linking. In future with hopes to link to product pages too.

Have me thinking if I'm being silly using the newer models if the cheaper model can do the job too. :D

@tattooedbuddha

Nice it should work. The key is indexing the sites. Try to make a script for that too. Also try to use expired domains, they rank faster

Hmm, I see. My articles are ~500 words each, and the new GPT model is 10x cheaper, so that's why my cost-per-article is lower.
The quality isn't GREAT, but it's not that bad either, very similar to what other competitors in the niche are publishing, so I guess it's more of a numbers game now - I target more keywords and hope to win a few.

That's a pretty cool idea - I guess I can try creating different segments if this phase goes well and I actually start getting some traffic.

are you using and kind of checker to see if they are being picked up as 100% ai written? are you trying to make the articles seem less ai generated and editing them or just generating and uploading?

Don't let me throw you off, you're still working at an extremely effective rate. Hiring a content writer in to expand those articles is exponentially cheaper than hiring a professional in to research, write and optimise your work.

Keep it up big man!

Not really, I haven't added any checks but I don't think it would matter. I explicitly define the subheadings and the tone etc in my prompts so I don't think it's gonna be THAT obvious to Google that it's AI written.

Sorry but we already tried this.. Added video, image, 15 question per article 1k word min etc.etc. not working

if you would like I can run a check for you on originality checker

That's sad to hear. Do you mind sharing some of your learnings?

How do you deal with similarities? I've been doing a bit of work recently and every time an article is created I have to check to see if it has been wrote about already;

I mean, every step needs that manual overlook but when we get to hundreds of articles a day... Or a smarter way to think of it, 6 months down the line how do we think of topics that haven't been wrote about?
Or avoid writing about the same topic a hundred times?

Well i think it will work but the key its quantity and if you get a lot of articles then you will get traffic
