YouTube Copyright Strike and Appeal

My content was uploaded by a channel that deceived and slandered users. As a result, we filed a copyright strike and YouTube took down the content. However, the channel appealed falsely and now YouTube is asking me for a court order. Obtaining a court order in my country is difficult. I’m not sure why YouTube is requesting a court order when the content belongs to me. I’m also unsure how to respond.

I do not believe youtube will ask you for that, I believe that the channel you reported is bluffing the appeal that you are not the owner of the content or maybe the email is fake and is not youtube at all, try to ask for more details about why they need that information but do not replay on the same email they contacted you open a new ticket just to confirm is youtube and not a fake email with pishing.

YouTube specifically highlighted the court order.

For YouTube to be asking for court order that means they want to verify the content belongs to you and the copyright strike was valid. I suggest you explain the situation providing evidence to prove to YouTube you own the content. Or you call a lawyer for advice, like a copyright lawyer in your country.

During the appeal process, the channel owner who violated my copyright made a false statement by claiming that the use of my material was for educational purposes and fell under fair use. The person who uploaded the infringing content admitted to it. However, I observed that the video, which included my copyrighted material, was generating revenue. Despite this, it was unexpected that YouTube is requesting a court order.
