Hi Guy, one of my tech website got hit by last week december 2022 google update and my traffic started dropping after 3rd jan 2023 below is the screenshot. It's almost 3 months now still the traffic is not improving even a bit. Also my server got hacked around the first week of january and the hacker added 5-6 pages (ecommerce pages) with 1000s of pages (dynamic pages) which the hacker got all indexed in google search console at the same time.

We have removed all those pages by google temporarily removed request option.

Can anyone tell me what are the things that you can suggest to help regain my lost traffic or do you think it is purely google search alogorithm case.

Any help will be really appreciated.

Seems like big G marked you as a spam AI site due to the bulk indexation by hackers.
Try to build backlinks and press releases I guess.
That's the only way I can think of to regain Google's trust.

If you look to the Google updates, technicaly the one that must have affected your site should have been
https://developers.google.com/search/updates/spam-updates?hl=en
Just by analyzing the dates it happened

But just by seeing a little GSC graph, it's 100% impossible to discover the real issues behind that drop.

PS: Yesterday I finished watching the Rings of Power. I hope I had one of those Palantirs for SEO purposes.

Sounds like the hackers gave you trouble. If you deleted their links, and are focusing on creating good content on your existing site and building some links, you probably just have to wait to get the ranking back. It won't bounce back instantly, just have to wait.

These hacking related services are on rise. I assume there will be good demand for protecting or fixing sites after hacks in future.

Thanks a lot for the suggestion. Will server help in this case?

Japanese mass spam malware hit one of mine, destroyed my rankings, it's been about 3 weeks now and starting to see some recovery.

What have you done on your site which is helping your site to recover?

Fresh install will be needed. Domain will already have all the link juice. It is lot of work but if the domain has achieved good stats, it should not be thrown away.

Thanks for the suggestion, can you please explain a little bit more about the fresh install.

Not in the future, already these kinds of requirements are coming high.
