If I may add:
1. More pages would show google that you cover topic in-depth.
2. You can use those pages for internal links to your main pages.
3. Just because semrush/ahrefs show 30 searches, it doesn't mean it's true... By accident I hit a keyword with 30 searches as per semrush only to see 100+ impression a day in GSC.
These are things ive considered, as I myself have articles that I'm told should get little to nothing but are a thousand clicks a month. But in my mind ill say to each:
1.) This is true, however before now, no one humanly has covered the topic this much, all of us who cover it this much are me, and the 2 other AI guys in the same niche. There is almost no higher thing in relevancy the algo can even compare my website to. So its debatable how this would help me, or rather maybe it would help them, if I do come to find these brand new AI domains out rank me based on coverage alone, that would be interesting to report.
2.) true, this may be worth something.
3.)same idea as first thing I said.
Thanks for your input
That's a lot of indexed pages.
yes, that's why im skeptical of going even high, 4k was already a giant number to me
There's really not too many surprises in your experiment.
This case study is a watch along, its not even been a month, all information is just as things are right now and everything is subject to change. Surprise is subjective, as to me, the fact google is even ranking all this AI hog wash is borderline, since all the articles are 100% detectable even by the weakest detectors, and a main part of me doing this was to see if current google was even algorithmically hitting sites with such boldly ai content. The whole name of this "AI Article Penalty Speed Run Case study 4000 posts" is based on the fact I thought this was so rediculous we might get to see my website drop like a stone day one. (hence me sacrificing a website with actual traffic and earnings so we could see).
Basically, you're saying that the lowest-difficulty keywords are the ones that are appearing in the top ranks.
No surprises there.
You can use manually-generated content to achieve the same results.
This is true, but I could not tell you for certain before this, if AI would have been treated the same way, as so much people say AI content has constantly been getting hit. Given im one website so you cant really say my results are for every site on the web, and even then, my traffic gain for 4 k articles might be considered weak by many even though we are only 2 weeks in.
The question is, how long will you keep those ranks?
Remember, just because you see an upward trend in rankings doesn't mean that it will continue that way.
Eventually, you will run into some sort of comparison regarding the "best pages" that rank for those low-difficulty keywords.
Just because your website didn't die or your rankings crashed overnight doesn't really say much.
Lets just look at the things it DOES say so we can have some fun with it, at the very least google doesn't immediately recognize it, and it doesn't recognize it during the index process like it normally would for some other spammy content, p**n etc.
Still, I have to commend you for publishing so much content in a very short period of time.
Thanks, though as mentioned before this hasn't been much physical work as its a borderline AI spam, how fast will google catch me, case study.
But based on how this experiment is going so far, the jury is still out.
And also, Google's response to mass publishing by publishers such as yourself remains to be seen.
Jury is still out but in my niche, 2 other sites just like me on brand new domains have popped up, google let them pass even though they had NO DA, links or authority at all before last week. Ive seen some AI website traffic hits that went crazy hard on massive sites, way bigger than mine, but I do wonder if its because they flew too high that they got personally noticed, as these sites were ranking for months. This is why im also not sure if adding thousands more might end up ruining what could have been interesting, to see a sort of, medium-sized case study of this.
Frankly my other sites (real with human writers etc) are not disposable to me, they make too much to just toss away, im not rich. This one had only made 16 k in its life time so it was easier to abuse it for fun.
You have to understand that you're not the only one with this idea.
You're also not the only one executing this.
Can you imagine thousands of people doing the exact same thing with tens of millions of pages appearing overnight?
Completely true, sadly I cant find much people showing their over the shoulders so I decided to do one for myself, I know many of them probably see this post and think "meh, he isn't doing much".
Lucky for them, they have all the answers I seek but for them to give away all their info and tips would potentially make them less competitive which is understandable. I can afford to do this little thing because I had a website that was hardly worth my time and AI is cheap.
There may be system considerations for Google to "strike back" and crack down on this practice through an indirect method.
That indirect method is quite obvious: Google's content quality parameters.
To make a long story short, I think the jury is still out on this situation.
This is true, I wonder how long though, or where google draws limits? Google also wants to be careful to not throw the baby out with the bath water so for all I know they might require a website to do MASSIVE amounts of content before any effects are even seen and 4 k posts is simply just not on the radar when most guys rn are going crazy with a whole carbon copy of Mashable appearing over night.
I personally don't think the jury will ever be in (sites die even without AI), we will follow this site until it dies and ill keep it public (the case study, not the domain name) what im deciding to do, bounce ideas off each other to see what might happen if I do XYZ on the site.
I invite you to ride this along with me, any questions you have, any ideas that are easier enough to Implement you can tell me and if I implement them, you can have a case study to sort of watch along, for all I know, the website could have died today lol.
I think this journey is interesting for many as we all want to know how it plays out... as you correctly said... the jury is still out.
Thanks for finding it worth watching. For as long as people find it interesting and we can talk about it, ill try to find time to keep updating and talking about things I notice.
