I have a question about my keyword understanding

Well Im kinda confused now since Im a SEO beginner. Does ranking for many side keywords increase the ranking of my target keyword?
I started practicing on a shopify e cigarette page and when I started they ranked for just 150 words. Now they rank for like 300 in like 2 weeks.

Will better content have an immidiate effect on my google rankings or will it take some more time because I always hear that it takes some months to climb high.

And I have another question, can I write articles on my own without a writer or smth else? Or does google not care about it...

SEO for a Shopify store is not the same as SEO for a Wordpress blog. With Shopify your product pages rank higher than any other ones.

But yes, in general keywords have a snowball effect. If you rank higher for lower volume keywords it will likely increase your position for higher competition keywords as Google sees your site is a preferred destination for the user.

As for writing articles, don't bother if it's a Shopify store. Just focus on perfecting the home, category, and product pages and their images. On a blog, you can write on your own, outsource it, or even use an AI assistant + an editor.

Backlinks are always useful. But you shouldn't focus too much on them at this early stage. You need to achieve three things in your product descriptions.

1. Show google what your product is great for

• Use main keywords and long-tail keywords
• Add h2 and h3 tags appropriately
• Add relevant images with alt text and captions
• Interlink to other products and link back to parent category.

2. Give information about the product

• Write about product specifications
• Give use cases for the product
• Separate your product from the competition

3. Convince the customer to buy the product

• Competitive pricing
• Show the reader the unique selling point of your product (price, quality, or maybe something else).
• Add call to actions throughout
• Add promotions (money back guarantee, free shipping, buy 2 get 1 free...)

Yes keywords are important but they are just a small piece. Remember this isn't a blog. You aren't earning money from ads where your only job is to attract readers to your site. You need to convert them.

Ranking for many keywords asides your main target keywords is a good sign.

Also, creating more content and interlinking them especially linking from the best performing pages to the least would help in spreading the juice throughout your entire site.

When you write on a particular keyword, you are also addressing many points that can answer the queries of people that are searching with a variation of that keyword. Hence, Google ranks your page for those keywords too.

For your second question, yes, you can write articles on your own through research.

sometimes it does happen (and it usually happens for sites that are established and google trusts, those sites rank for each new piece of content that they publish instantly a lot of times)

because I always hear that it takes some months to climb high.

it does take months but to start ranking new sites, not necessarily to improve the rankings of established ones. Climbing high usually takes days (weeks at most) if you do the right things, but it could also take years or you might never climb high in the SERPs if you don't do things rights. And climbing high depends on a lot of things anyway, such as:

- your domain's strength and trust with google;
- your luck (google is pretty random sometimes, and if they decide that they don't like your site, good luck ranking it);
- competition toughness;
- user feedback (if google sends traffic to one of your pages - which they do aplenty of, for new sites - to test how that traffic interacts with your content, and if the signals that google gets from the users' interaction with your content are not positive for you then you will have a hard time climbing high in the SERPs with that content if you don't improve it);

of course you can write on your own, but you'd better do a good job at addressing the intent of your target keyword properly or you might have wasted your time, because google puts a lot of emphasis on keyword intent.

When you have a ton of keywords and you have used some in the product description, collection pages, images and wrote some blog articles, what can you do with the rest of them?

I have over 100 keywords for a particular product and I'm not sure what to do with them all?

It can take several months for ranking to settle down, till then they will bounce from page to page.
