On #1 - don't know what to tell you, there is a lot of advice and discussion about comments in this and the other sbox threads as well. Quality of proxies, level of tokenization, and content of the comments are three key factors in approval rates.

On #2 - after you harvest URL's, sbox can check their PR, then export only those above whatever PR threshold you want to set.

In general I strongly advise reading thru all of the main sbox thread here on BHW (yes I know it's 60-some pages, the line for refunds is out back if you're not satisfied after reading it), reading the official and unofficial user guides, and watching all of the videos on the youtube channel before going nuts commenting on 65536 blogs.

That's not just directed @ you, OP. Just some free advice from your pal, gregs.

I bought scrapebox last week. I think it has good potential but using the free proxies is pretty useless i think. They are just too unreliable. I've watched all the videos at least twice. Can anyone recommend the best place to get hundreds of proxies at a resonable cost?

I am astonished at the usage stats Sweet Funny mentioned regarding the blasts that have occurred incorrectly with the example emails etc..

There is a lot of info training on this, videos on You Tube by Frankie, and for all the people asking about the functions of the software, go to the "Scrapebox" website (its a com) and one of the links will show you about 40 screengrabs of its capabilities that the team have put together to help show you the product, I believe it is on the "screenshots" link from memory.

This tool is so very powerful but you have to use it correctly. If you blast the same URL more than hundreds of times in 2 minutes, even using proxies, at some point Akismet or other blog filters may notice the same URL being posted and block. They may be more tuned into blocking some categories than others (e.g. Forex and Finance) and the higher PR sites may be more vigilant, but be careful. Remember, it logs your name, IP, email and URL....

Welcome to the club. The free proxies have been the subject of much discussion, debate, and angst. They're not too bad for harvesting the search engines (some days) but for mass commenting they hurt your success rate - bad.

You're probably gonna get quite a few opinions about the best cost/benefit mix for proxies for sbox. I've given my advice and opinions enough times I'm not gonna reiterate them here. Just make sure whoever you go with is either okay with you using for sbox and/or doesn't care what you use them for. Several vendors don't allow it or will be banning it soon (believe me, I've already danced at that hoe-down more than once).

Yes - excellent points.

Short version of gregstereo's free ScrapeBox 101/Boot Camp:
1. Read the official usage guide: http://www.scrapebox.com/usage-guide
2. Read the free "unofficial" guide (search for it here on bhw, I think it's titled like "scrapebox user guide" or something like that); I can mirror it on mediafire if people can't find it and that's okay with the author (which it should be since at least 5-10% of the content is from comments I've made in this thread)
3. watch the youtube videos, Frankie is your new best friend; search for scrapebox on youtube, they have their own channel
4. Read yukinari84's "scrapebox best practices" thread - excellent advice in his OP and some of the followups
5. Practice on your own sites - yes, spam yourself and see how it looks
6. Read the BST sbox thread - ALL OF IT - it's worth it; yes I know it's long, but even now sometimes I glance thru a few previous pages and pick up a bit of new insight I overlooked earlier.

Do those 6 things, get some decent proxies, and then wash, rinse, and repeat.

The user guide is so extensive that you hardly need anything more to understand the possibilities. I bought it just 2 days back and I have not done even a single comment so far.. I am just going through all the user's experience and will make sure I do not misuse this tool in any way.

And I am really surprised why 'Sweetfunny' has kept the price so low. It should be well above $150. I have seen some tools which contain just one feature of this Scrapebox (lets say it only do commenting) and it cost you $100.... Even if i do not compare the prices of other tools, this should be bit costly to ensure that only serious hand uses this.

If my PC already connect in VPN or Proxy, should i still use the proxies in scrapebox to harvest url ?

I don't use the auto comment, once I have found the blogs...
I transfer into a html file and open up in browser..
If you have roboform you can auto fill.

I have NoFollow turned to see if my comment url will stick with follow. If there are other comments, I ignore and go to next. I also try to add my comment to make it as relevant as possible to the blog...
I get 75% off comments sticking this way.
Perhaps I spend an extra hour though..

where can i find footprint samples for SB?

Just pull up blogs you want to comment on and look for common characteristics. Then familiarize your self with search operators. Like

"Powered by Wordpress"
"Powered by Wordpress" -"comments are closed"
"Powered by wordpress" +"leave a comment"

"Powered by blogengine.net"

Etc...

Yes probably. I mean if you are using a VPN then it won't show your IP, but its going to show the VPN ip and that could be an issue real fast in many areas.

i also am looking for paid proxy service for newbie user.
i know sb suggest yourpaidproxy at $30/month, anything for around $15/month?

thanks!

Check out the proxies sub-forums, esp. the proxies for sale area.

Also take a look in the main BST sbox thread, jammo aka proxygo has done a roundup of the paid proxy providers from the for sale area at least once there.

WHAT WHAT WHAT!?

Use ScrapeBox, Scrape URLs. Export to HTML file. Open said file, click link. Hit Robo Form button, click register. Rinse and repeat :D

I found only a paid software "Robo Form" and a (free?) firefox toolbar. Which one are you referring to here?

Thanks mate,
Steve

@shapsp, do you have any suggestion to find any do follow link using scrapebox?
I do a lot of commenting on more than 400 sites, already removed duplicate url, I create list of sentences for the comment, not the regural one like "nice post, keep up the good work", after the comment process done, I saw more than 1oo marked as submitted but when I check the submitted links using the "check links" feature on SB, no result found at all, so my point is, why after using SB I found the success rate is near 0%, FYI I used comment on wordpress blog since I heard commenting on Blog Engine is not good because they don't have enough weight since so many spammed comment found on BE.
Thanks

My problem is getting together a long list of generic comments.

Is there a place to scrape something like this? or should i just keep trudging thru!
