This person has done a whole heist, not a simple scam. I'm shocked to see so many members who reported it (and there's always a number that doesn't report).

I hope most of you manage to get the money back.

To be honest, insisting on paying by paypal is not the solution. Anyone like this guy obviously, who sets out to scam, has the PayPal option covered. All he needs is a stealth paypal which he can get easily. So anyone who insists on crypto payments, it doesn't necessarily mean he is a suspect. Besides, paypal can be a double edged sword for sellers and quite a few good sellers, who have been hit hard by paypal will rather not use it.

The best thing as mentioned here already, is to check post history and look for possible descrepancies. That's the best indicator I think.

That's exactly what we all did, buying from a 2011 member with over 1k post, jr Vip etc.. the thing is, you can buy an old account and repeat the whole thing agian...

By post history, I dont mean number of posts and age of account, I mean actually looking at his posts to see if there is anything off. There was an obvious disconnect in the flair of communication of this guy a couple of months ago from previous posts months older as someone pointed out. Well it would only be obvious to those who are checking closely. It wont be obvious to all.

So, what then is your point, that it shouldn't be implemented just because it requires effort? Is there anything in the world that is worth the time and money that doesn't require effort? And how difficult could it possibly be for the biggest Internet marketing forum? What about the extra business it will bring in due to buyers having more faith in the marketplace. Services on BHW are cheaper than other SEO marketplaces so more trust means more buyers. This is why people trust Fiverr and SEOClerks. They know they can't be scammed.

It's a simple choice, nevertheless. Put in the effort and set up the escrow system or continue letting your members get scammed.

we already know an escrow system could solve a lot of issues. what's the point in being a pain to read through

So everytime I want to buy a service I have to check how many months exactly? 5? 6 months of chat history to see if there is a a disconnect in the flair of communication? lol we know now cause after he ripped us we checked him deep, otherwise no one is going to bother mate

Apparently if you’re hacked you can somehow scam members here and get back into the forum as if nothing happened.

This happened quite often recently, I have had similar case with other member here which was hacked too.

Seeing how often this happens I think it’s not really hacked, it seems like an organized social engineering…

I mean anyone can just login from different location then start messaging people and scam, and once the cases catch up with them they just contact support from location they usually login and follow procedure to verify this and that and well it seems that you’re hacked?

I don't even know what's going on here. It's either the original owner is in cahoots with the scammer and has contacted BHW to reactivate their account under the guise of their account having been hacked as you said, or @BassTrackerBoats has been hacked.

This is just to back up my earlier post that got me a warning. I said that this type of scamming happened recently and this is the proof.

Mod can remove if this is against shitlist rule and please understand I just want to share the similar experience as my shitlist myself was not making it to the surface of the forum.

Basically, the guy mostly operates within DMs and there was more than one victim to this, I think just deducing it myself at least 3 people got scammed during the “hacked” period.

And as I tried to pursue the shitlist, got notice that he’s hacked and now just like this @thetraveller he’s free browsing around the forum as if nothing happened.

I did not make this shit up. I accept the warning but please do not give me anymore warning if this is not accepted as post. Thanks.

We have several methods to tell whether an account truly was hacked, and we only unban them if their account has those very obvious tell-tale signs of being compromised. If there's any doubt about the claims the original account holder is making, we opt to leave the account banned rather than risk them coming back to the forum to scam more members.
