Im sorry for all of u guys, we are in the same boat, BHW really needs to integrate some sort of payment solution and hold payments between parties, I won't be trusting any more people in this community unless they have a very high reputation.

Sorry to post where I've got nothing to do with anything, but I've seen other forums utilizing an escrow system...

Payment completed after a deal is completed both ways, would this not benefit BHW too in the case of say a 5% support fee?

That could be possible. The scammer probably reached out to him (the PayPal owner) acting like a legitimate business owner and promising him a percentage to use his PayPal account to receive payment and send him, say, crypto.
The scammer then sells fake services to users here, and once they complain he asks them to initiate a chargeback instead of offering a direct refund, knowing that he's already gotten the crypto and the PayPal owner would be the one bearing the loss.
He rinses and repeat by contacting new PayPal account holders, buying new aged BHW accounts etc etc

Right. Of course there is no way to be a hundred percent certain. I'm just saying it is possible and a popular strategy.
Regarding the information, it can definitely help him if he has a way of getting to India.

its quite a bold scam.

Normally when the seller refuses to use the standard service/item buy option on PP or worse outright refuses to use PayPal and insists on crypto it can be one of the first red flags.

Being backed by buyer protection is normally half way enough to sift out the scammers.

Jr. VIPs are required to have 2FA enabled, so it's very unlikely that the account was hacked. Could be sold, though.

When i worked as a lifeguard i had a boss that had an accident. He hit his head. So he was replaced but still "worked" with us as a regular lifeguard. He used to be a captain, but after the accident he simply massaged your shoulders and repeated "You're number one! Number one!". Maybe thetraveller had an accident or some kind of stroke and became a new person.

This reminds me of the indian scammers you see on youtube. They're very nice but once they get caught they start saying stuff like "ohhh, i'm fucking your mother right now"

Until this forum has an escrow system, avoid using crypto and card payments for services unless the seller is a highly regarded member that has a lot of high quality posts and useful threads. I'm sure we all know who the reputable members are. For other sellers, only pay via PayPal. PayPal is really good at helping you get your money back when you're scammed or the product/service you ordered isn't delivered.

BHW is the only marketplace I know that doesn't have an escrow system, and that's why these scams will continue to thrive. Implement the escrow system and there'll be no need for shitlist threads again. Members will have more faith in the system, sales will flourish, more money for BHW. The benefits will definitely outweigh the cost.

So, what then is your point, that it shouldn't be implemented just because it requires effort? Is there anything in the world that is worth the time and money that doesn't require effort? And how difficult could it possibly be for the biggest Internet marketing forum? What about the extra business it will bring in due to buyers having more faith in the marketplace. Services on BHW are cheaper than other SEO marketplaces so more trust means more buyers. This is why people trust Fiverr and SEOClerks. They know they can't be scammed.

To be honest, insisting on paying by paypal is not the solution. Anyone like this guy obviously, who sets out to scam, has the PayPal option covered. All he needs is a stealth paypal which he can get easily. So anyone who insists on crypto payments, it doesn't necessarily mean he is a suspect. Besides, paypal can be a double edged sword for sellers and quite a few good sellers, who have been hit hard by paypal will rather not use it.

The best thing as mentioned here already, is to check post history and look for possible descrepancies. That's the best indicator I think.
