Am I remembering wrong or was there in the past the possibility to change the useragent of Scrapebox? I have the little suspicion that the useragent of sb maybe is blocked somewhere as agent of a spamtool. But I cant find the setting to check this...

@SF

Sometimes the Check Links doesnt work fully. At the end sometimes one or two connections stay alive even after timeout.

yo sweet i havent udated in like 2 weeks until recently and now scrapebox is a memory ladden ox, it currently is running in (Not Responding) mode, taking up 154mb of ram, I know its running but just to load the urls for Pagerank of 100k links has been going for about 20 minutes, I remember this program to be fast and light, real fast. Whats going on!?

@Darkone

I figured this problem too. I had a list of 600000 urls i wanted to check for pagerank. But starting only resultet in more and more ram eaten.
The only resolution was to divide the list into parts of 50000 urls. But even then it took some minutes until the check started.

Its only been a week since the Accurate Mode for BlogEngine feature was added. Has anyone had any success with it or issues? I know there were some problems with this feature mentioned just after the feature was released.

I just tried it 3 times in a row on different blog engine harvests with 4 successful comments out of 800 attempts. Ive tried to refresh my proxies, checked that I had all the settings correct, and still no success.

Yes - Blog Engine is checked in the harvester when Im doing the harvest.
Yes - Blog Engine is checked in the commenter when I start commenting.
Yes - The Accurate Mode window pops up and is used when attempting to comment.
The timeout for the accurate mode is set to 20 seconds

Any ideas, suggestions??

Everytime I use accurate mode.it crashes after a few posts.. I have 2 licenses on 2 different computers at 2 different locations and they both crash everytime.. I beleive there may be some bugs to still work out.. But I still get plenty of succesful using the regular slow mode :)

I'm having the EXACT same problem as you.

Isnt is nice when you can answer your own question and reply to your own post :). I found my problem but I dont know if it will fix anyone elses problems.

ANSWER---

After I would do a blog engine harvest I would do a PR check then export the harvest with PR to a text file. I was uploading that text file into the commentor and the commentor didnt like the /PR in the text file and couldnt find the URL. This was causing the failed comments because it couldnt find the website with the /PR in the text file. I corrected this and just finished a list of 200 blog engine url's and was successful on 130 of them. It didnt freeze or anything.

The moral of the story---- dont upload a text file url harvest into the commentor with the PR in the text file. You'll crash and burn.

Hey Thedon23 --- were you doing the same thing as me?

Hi,

My SB got crashed on win7, is there anyone get same problem as me?

Not that I've heard of or seen myself. And there are a fair number of SB users, so if it were a widespread prob I think we would have heard about it.

Still crashing? What is it doing when it crashed? A bit more info might help.

I hate to say this but DAMN you keep posting in this thread.

We know you sell your proxies... please, use your own thread, it is very distracting to have you interjecting in between every 3 or 4 posts.

I am having no problems at all ... I have had a couple of pm's with others that are having this problem also...

Has anyone used Sweetfunnies support email on the website?

Hmmmm....I haven't had it crash when posting in accurate mode (yet - knock on wood), and I've posted with accurate mode to WP, MT, and BE targets. Happens after just a few posts? Odd. About how big is the list or targets? SB is very resource and memory friendly in general, but I have noticed huge lists do use up some mem.

Have you sent in the debug reports after it crashes (assuming you get that dialog? The main reason I ask is that it took me a few months to realize that the SB dialog box wasn't the standard Micro$oft "Do you want to send an error report so we can ignore it?" dialog. I'm pretty numb and used to clicking "Don't Send" on the M$FT dialog.

But the ScrapeBox crash report dialog actually sends Sweetfunny some debug info to look at.

LOL ... just saw that webmarketingmaster answered his own question!

Thanks for the PM ... ;)

Now, everybody back to work! Make them links ! This dude rocks and I am hitting new heights of success ... I haven't even mass commented in 2 days for myself... trying a new trick or two.

SB is also perfect for picking up info on competing websites, so BEWARE with your comments! ... HAHAHAhahahah -<maniacal laughter>-

I'm glad webmarketingmaster found a fix for his issue. But I also have noticed a few posts lately about problems with BlogEngine platform and wanted to reiterate something Sweetfunny posted earlier:

So not sure what's up with that, maybe your domains were blocked. BlogEngine has changed a lot.

Note the bold:
Quote:
BlogEngine.NET 1.6 is Released - February 1, 2010 01:56
For those who receive a steady dose of comment spam (and who doesn't!), a new powerful Comment Management and Comment Spam Filtering infrastruture has been added in version 1.6. Comments across all posts can be viewed, edited, deleted or approved in one convenient area. Comments can still be manually moderated, but now moderation can be automated by running comments thru remote or local comment spam validation services.

Yes it's now has moderation, Askimet, Stopforumspam and other things. If people are having problems with it crashing, not commenting and can't get links with it via the old comment method, the new comment method and the manual mode then it may just be time to remove it because that's 3 options and there's not a fourth.

Reading is fundamental.

Personally I hope she keeps BlogEngine support - I"m commenting to that platform right now and have 13/119 succeeded. Lower than before their latest update, but still I'll take them.

EDIT: just to be clear, the first paragraph of the quote above is SF, the second paragraph is SF quoting from BlogEngine, the final paragraph of the quote above is SF saying "Yes it now has moderation, @kismet...."

and personally I say "Yes us freetards have spammed that platform so hard they have put in some hardening measures."

We know you sell your proxies... please, use your own thread, it is very distracting to have you interjecting in between every 3 or 4 posts.

I have to say, I think you may have overlooked a few things:

1) aside from the post you quoted, proxygo has been offering tips on how to speed up proxy management within scrapebox

2) he also has posted some proxies here that we in the scrapebox community can use; if you consider that thread-jacking or hype, you're wrong - those were freebies he gave out whilst explaining some findings about how the SB proxy management works (that business with the "S" pre-pended onto socks proxies was something I had never noticed before - it's actually a pretty cool little trick sweetfunny does to make them work)

3) there was, to me, a certain element of understated irony in that there were some posts here about proxies, how to use them, etc., and then just a few posts later someone posted "Hey guys where can I get proxies?"

I almost typed a response to that saying something like:
"Hmmmm....if only there were a "Search Thread" option here, like oh I don't know, right up top on each page in a thread; and if only we had a Proxies forum on BHW with two sub-forums under it for people to learn about and ask about and find proxies. Hmmm damn if only computers could do such things for us, what a wonderful world it would be."

But that would have sounded sarcastic and pissy I decided so I didn't post it. Until now.

Does anyone know any tricks to get the manual post mode working faster?

My internet connection is FAST but it can take 30-45 seconds (or longer) to get the actual web pages to load in manual post mode. I tried turning off some of the media & security settings like images, etc. I even tried it without proxies to rule that out and still...... super slow.

Any tips/tricks?

Thanks all......

Erm....we are moving into an area that is a bit complex, but there are some hacks/tweaks that can make a Winblows box run the interwebby faster. Not sure they will help in your case, but for starters have a look in the event viewer and see if you're getting any TCP warnings or errors about thresholds being exceeded.

Now if you're manually commenting to BlogEngine targets, that platform blows dead bear so badly that it's going to be slow no matter how much you tweak. But if you're targetting other platforms, we might be able to improve your experience.

If the stuff about event viewer is Greek to you PM me, I owe you a PM any way (sorry - been a long couple of days, today being the frosting on the crap cake as I dealt with: an ill child home from school, an adult "working from home" all day, and one of the computers on the network here is fockered up beyond belief and very unstable, which in total kept me from getting much work done myself - I thought I was gonna freak out, but I survived...sedatives are a wonderful aid sometimes....ah, the quiet now....it's lovely).

Oh and generally I would caution against EVER turning off proxies when running this or any tool that scrapes or otherwise hammers web sites. I know it's a tempting thing to test when you're troubleshooting but it can do so much harm in terms of your IP getting seared into the Borg collective of the various service providers (*cough* guh-oogle *cough*).

Whatever ... Just take it like ya see it.

I think your 3 pronged post and links were uncalled for and should he should post helpful items... YES please do ...

In any other thread in this forum anyone else would have said more than I did about hi-jacking a thread... it was actually a pretty lame attempt to drum up biz on another persons dime.

I call em like I see em, and you can see it.

'Nuff said ... drop it, it is pretty petty.

I am getting SLAUGHTERED by Akismet!

How's everyone's proxies doing against Akismet?

Because I've been doing some testing, and can't for my life get around it on my own blog using free proxies. They must all be blacklisted. I even tried the ones ProxyGo asked us to test, and the same thing results.

I've been posting original comments that have to do with the blog post, with various related URLs, names, and e-mail addresses that look real but I made up, so they can't already be in Akismet.

It's gotta be the proxies at this point.

My question is, should I sign up for ProxyBonanza? How are you all doing with it?

If we're all slamming the hell out of their proxies, won't they get hit by Akismet too? How often do they rotate their IPs? I'm considering going after the 68 proxies for $17.

I'm worried I'll spend more money on proxies that are fast, but just as blacklisted.

Thanks,
Berto

From what I can tell, @kismet doesn't just block based on IP, they also block based on either url or domain of the backlinks. So we have more than just IP to worry about.

I still advise running with proxies of some sort....always....that's just common sense.

And yes, PB proxies will get blocked by @kismet if they're taxed, but like I say, I don't think it's just IP's that they are banning.

I'm still trying to ascertain to a certainty @ what level they ban sites - url specific (e.g. I drop backlink for www dot mycrapautoblog dot com/longdeeplink, do they bad that url or they do ban everything for www dot mycrapautoblog dot com?).
