I was thinking of the theory of re-skinning existing apps i have copyrights to, and posting a lot of them (like over 100 or more).

Is it possible in 2022? Will each individual reskinned app trigger a SPAM violation (100% of all posted apps - violation)? Or is it 50%/50% (50 will be spam, 50 will pass) or 20% 80% (20 will trigger SPAM, 80 won't) etc give a percentage if you can please.

How hard is to have multiple un-liked Google Play accounts in 2022? Is it still possible? Are the accounts that you can buy any good or they are useless? Can you even buy accounts in 2022?

I heard Google now asks for ID when making new dev account.

Hello, i have read your thread and wanted to PM you , but i couldn't (i think my account here is too new). Basically you are the Google Play God! :D and wanted to ask you

So please tell me why is it dead since 2019?

Will making multiple accounts myself work in 2022?

Will buying multiple accounts work in 2022?

Will each and every reskinned app trigger the SPAM policy?

I am actually a programmer and choosing between doing this and a regular job.

I can't answer your question but I can tell you this. Many times throughout the years I was doing specific methods which were banking hard, meanwhile there were all sorts of opinions about the method itself, and I was always intrigued by the fact that many people forget that their own twists and plan can make the difference from the basics of a method. The best way you can find the answer to this is to do it yourself. If you have a regular job, do it in your free time and then decide if to switch or not. If you aren't hired yet, then hurry up and go for this.

1. Between 2011-2019 Google was giving installs and traffic to indie apps / games in massive scale. 100k installs in 1 day? No problem!
Now, you need to invest in ads to get userbase. Forget about 100k-500k installs from store itself. If you get it, it's just temporary luck
Most of traffic is going to big brands or social media apps like TikTok. Hype for apps is over. People just don't need apps.

2. Yes, if you can buy IDs from somewhere
3. Yes, if you can find it cheap
4. Probably yes, reskin time ended in 2015. From that time, you need to make not reskin but recoding, changing huge amount of code, so it's better to just make own apps

Every now and then I can still find some games that is heavily invested in ads on Android.

The game should be called ads game cause ads appear every second, every chance it has to show you ads it will appear, even on airplane mode.

So I must say I think it still works but certainly not in an easy way, you must custom made your game / app just to make it work and twist your own method to push those ads to keep appearing to your users.

Regarding 1., it's something I'm paranoid about myself, launching soon a new app and I am thinking that as I will go with paid ads in the beginning, when I will stop, naturally the install numbers will decrease as well, but what if there is an algorithm that will put me in worse shoes than someone who never bought ads in the first place? So that it can force me to rebuy and keep going. I am sure this happens over other platforms as well.

I can vouch too that since around 2017 the reskinning method died for me been making good money with apps from 2013-2017 but it gets really hard to just maintain an account from getting suspended, I can almost guarantee that it has something to do with the how your app is programmed too, since android studio is google's software it basically has access to so much of your work (meaning they have access to your code), if you plan on reskinning this alone will flag your apps and probably will kill any change of you spamming anything, but for lower quality apps, basically reskins or very low retention or usage apps its not very profitable, google does also monitor install/uninstall rate so that will trigger a low quality app alert for them. anyway in earlier years I've had collectively through my apps ad impressions reaching millions, which netted $100k+ but as time progressed eCPM became much lower as well, video ads took over and basically golden age for apps is no more.

If you get it right though you might make good money, not trying to discourage you or anything, just sharing my experience.

My fear is that i will get banned for life on Google Play while doing this and will affect me for life (if i work for a company or client and access their Google Play while banned, there is a high chance their account will be terminated aswell.

Are you still making money now? How many hours a day do you work?

As a programmer i can make 3-4K net a month with 8 hours a day, was hoping for passive income in that amount or maybe just half but passive (not active working, maybe not work at all) so i can travel.

Read your thread https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/why-reskin-is-not-dead-and-will-be-not-dead.1052665/ about this a few years ago, very informative, i also made some money for a few years out of the pareto principle.

So the problem is that organic traffic is basically 0 now for all apps without ads, so the pareto principle that worked before when publishing lots of apps (1% of apps give 99% of income) doesn't work anymore, right?

Can i ask you how many hours your worked per day to get income from pareto principle on Google Play in the past? Just out of curiosity

Would you say that after the SPAM policy got implemented in 2019 the % of violations per 100 apps got higher for reskinned apps or about the same? Example: 20 violations for 100 apps turned into 80 violations for 100 apps.

You have found my thread from the past, it's like prehistory now. I am not doing android now for last 3 years, because no traffic reason and increasing the complexity of android apps.
I don't remember how long I was working, but a lot.

Can you give me some advice, get a regular programming job 8 hours/day for 3-4K monthly or try Google Play reskins?

So in conclusion the pareto principle (1% of apps are successful) and make the whole thing worth it no longer works, right?

Also thank you so much for all the information, it has been so helpful.

Get a regular programming job 8 hours/day for 3-4K monthly
This would be better ;) and better to stay away mobile. Do Python or Javascript, get regular salary.
After work, concentrate on some projects in your free time. Maybe some microsaas projects

Thanks for the advice! I guess reskinning is a dead-end and not worth it, although i plan to try one last thing: i have an old app that made me lots of money in the past and now it's not making money, and i plan to try and change its market/keywords to re-market/re-purpose it.

Will google ban me for re-publishing my own app that is live for 4 years? Let's say i change the artwork, some code and the package name and and publish it with a different name/keywords/description, repeatedly under my one and only account (the account with the 4 year old app), will they ban my app?

Thanks again for the great insight, i am so glad i found all this awesome info from you and its greatly helping me make a choice in life/changing my life.

I know the reskin app is not what it used to be, however how about doing a Super reskin instead of a simple reskin ?

That's what I did and I haven't got any problem since.
What do you mean by "Super Reskin"?

What do you mean by "Super Reskin"?
Well, its mostly the same as Reskin but you change even more stuff to make sure it doesn't get flag or something. As you know changing the name of the app & the background wont be enough these days

add a new feature in the app.........
add a new level in the app.....

What ever extra necessary so it doesn't rejected or ban

Cheer,

Just take a look at the top new free section on appbrain.
you will notice 2 main spam roads. semi-legal games and spammy apps.

semi-legal games :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ht2.craft.bowhttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fc.be.pl.save.the.pethttps://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xgame.rainbow.run.blue.friends
similar codes available for unity

the only thing that changed is the budget. early back in 2015, you can barely change anything and the game is accepted. now you have to make it look perfect. with the possibility of getting a suspension or rejection.

Anyone knows where I can buy google play developer accounts?

I think there's still lots of money to be made from google play, it's much harder than before. But also I think less competition when you find something that works. I know many guys who gave up.

The problem nowadays is monetizing the traffic, as admob/facebook will limit you.
