Harbour waters are not meant to be swum in anyway, not just because it is dirty but also safety "they just go for a swim" is forbidden in pretty much every yacht club and marina I visited, just one one longer dive and a guy with his engine on and you have a floating corpse, besides the fact that coastal waters are dirty as fuck also.
Remember the "don't stay on the boat" thing? First of all: No one is harmed if I stay on the boat, secondly no one cares in most other areas it's only the south and southeast. In fact, when I stayed in Wales they asked me if I stay on the boat or not, andwhen I said yes, is that a problem? They just moved me closer to the shower facilities so it's more convenient for me.
They even tried to tell me I couldn't stay so much on the boat because it is against the regulations WHEN I WAS ACTUALLY AWAY FOR 1,5 MONTHS AT THAT POINT IN TIME.
Was a really awkward phone call for them.
So yeah, it's not about scary man peeing while standing up. They're a pain and I can't wait to get my things in order so I can finally leave.

Nice, but you do realise that boaties constantly flush out their pee (and more) through their heads anyway? Not to mention the oil and sometimes diesel in the water, also the fact that marinas often have still water, and people chuging their food overboard....
