I am in this marina since almost 2,5 years, and I live on my boat. Not that I would hang my undies outside to dry or constantly have parties or something but the new managment really tries to get rid of me for every little thing. The first year they didn't charge me for electric, at all. Then they bugged me about requiring a metred lead which costs 160 quid!
Then they went on about how I am not supposed to stay on the boat and demanded proof of address, and when I gave them one they wanted more proof, and more as if they couldn't accept it.

They don't even know when I am on the boat or not, so far is obvious, often times they call me about the most stupid things and ask if I am around. So why are they so bothered?

Jeez, and everytime I come up with a solution so they leave me alone they come up with the next thing. And there is never a warning, it's immediately the words "And unfortunately I have no other choice but to end your contract to XXX (end of month usualy) and you will need to move the boat".

Dude, the engine isn't working and it's the only deep water harbour in the area, besides I like my friends here.

You know why they wanna kick me out now? Hold on to your seats, it's a big one! "Indecent exposure infront of children". This makes me sound like the biggest perv ever.

You know what it actually is? The flat AAAAAAALL across the marina saw me take a pee off the pontoon somewhen in the evening once or twice and wrote a letter of complaint. I know my dick is huge, but I highly doubt they can see anything from their balconies, especially in the evening. And now the thing is: I have been doing that every now and then (like everybody else) since I am in the marina, so it's not even a recent thing. And the toilet block is like a 5 minute walk from my pontoon. Imagine you need to take a leak really bad and then have to walk 5 minutes to the toilet block. Especially if I am having beers, I won't spend 15 minutes of every hour just for a toilet walk.

And now consider this: Everyone on their boats has their own toilets, which, you guessed it, flush into the harbour water, too.

Fucking annoying, really. Stressing me out like this, especially not that I am broke as fuck.

I want to move away from here, but first I need to fix the engine and then I can sell the boat, but not earlier. I already have a second boat up in scotland, where I want to move to as soon as I have a couple K in my pocket for dire needed upgrades for the new boat (like solar power as it doesn't have any electricity besides the alternator) and some stuff to make it easy to sail solo.

But nooooo they need to stress me the fuck out once again over little BS like that. I don't know what their problem is. And "they" actually only means the one person in charge, since she is here she wants to get rid off me although I am a paying customer and don't cause trouble.

If people actually complained I would have just passed the info on with a little warning if I were in charge. JFC.

Sorry, needed to rant.

Anyone else here a boatie?

So you live in thye boat when your not meant to, use electric for a year without paying and pee in the open from the side of the boat? Have I summed it up? Yer they sound bang out of order for not wanting you there

I'd call the police if you were exposing yourself in front of children... be glad they only want you to leave.

Nope, but one day I will be .. Really looking forward to it. But not in a marina, I´m looking to be a world citizen and explore it to the fullest.

It is not as enticing as you think to live on a boat and travel the world.

It may work for you but for most of us it just does not do the trick.

So, now am I not allowed to own a sailboat that I can live on I'm also not allowed to own another motorcycle nor am I allowed to run with scissors and do not even get me started on how bad it is to eat yellow snow.

Not really. They didn't say anything about me having to pay for electricity, and they often don't bother. And in other places it was for free, too. I didn't know. Then thy bothered me with having to buy their own brand electric lead and I couldn't use my old one because it's not an approved brand.

And yeah, I peed in the open from the side of my boat, on my lonely pontoon where there is no one near it except for me. And the flats are far, far away. Couple hundred meter at least. Have you never peed against a tree or something?
Well.. umm. live in a house?
Nah. I was waiting for covid so I can leave.

Yeah, I don't expose myself to children. You totally bought into the exaggeration.

Same, mate. I just wanna sell this boat and then I am out of here. But first need to repair the engine, which ran great until last winter and now I have to wait for parts.

I got the boat in january two years ago and said to my mates "Give me two/three months to fix her up and then I'll sail away". In march we had the first covid lockdowns, if you remember. But this year is the year. I wanted to be gone by now already, but the engine refused to work properly so I can't sell it as it is, and the parts take forever to arrive as they are hard to source

Yes, we are all different in the way we have needs in life or the way we want to live our life. Everybody is different.

Yeah, to take a pee when no one was around, at night usually. But I didn't expose myself to others.
That is exposing yourself in public as you have stated multiple times now.

Live how you want to live, but if that was my marina, I'd have video and have you arrested.

You're the type who would arrest someone peeing behind a bush in the park also.

I wold not arrest anyone as I'm not law enforcement but if that was my marina and anyone was doing that I'd have them arrested.

Be careful.

I didn't expose myself in public.

It is the weirdest thing, isn't it? Blame pervy men for that one, i guess. Here, peeing in public may get you on the sex offenders list.... if you're a man. Ive NEVER heard of a woman being put on a list for public urination. Police will harass a man for peeing in public but will gladly stand guard if a woman does it. I know from experience. During my bar days, girls would just squat down and wee behind a building. I'll even admit to doing it once or twice or thrice. The walk to the cab and then the drive home is just too long for my poor body processing all that alcohol so quickly.

It is so bizarre. Driving across the country during summer, people peeing on the side of the highway is so freaking commonplace. I just don't get it. What's so scary about a weeing penis, anyway?

I belong to our local yacht club here and I am on the main committee. Kids go sailing, some people fall in or just go for a swim. If we saw you having a pee from any of our jetties you would on your way out.
