Just 1 rule, have super high CTR. Nothing else matters has much. Thats how the algos pick up on your videos.

Crazy good engaging title and thumbnail achieve this. Aim for a CTR thats atleast 7%. If your content gets low CTR. Means, your title, thumbnail and niche might be trash.

high ctr in browse and suggested is what mainly matters. a high ctr in search is only good for ranking. which may be beneficial to specific niches where you're selling a product or course.

No doubt that thumbnails attract people to click on the video to watch the video and if it is a video with good appealing content, then the chances of further engagements is good.

A high CTR is not gonna help you if your viewer retention is super low.

We are strictly talking about what the algos will pick up on.... If you have low retention means your content sucks.

If your content sucks chances are your CTR sucks, unless you're clicking baiting really bad, which also isnt the goal even though we want high CTR. Because we need good retention.

Im specifically only talking about how to have ALGOS pick up your videos.

It's also important to note that CTR isn't simply from the video's metadata.

The content's watch time percentage also determines the recommendations. In my experience, the watch time percentage is much more important than the rest. If a video is dogshit, a godly thumbnail and well-configured metadata will not save shit and the CTR will still remain low.

However, of course, the more the better. A damn good thumbnail, proper titling, tags, descriptions; everything makes a difference.

Again, the "ALGOS" won't pick up shit just because you have a high CTR. Saying "Just 1 rule, have super high CTR. Nothing else matters has much" is just simply wrong.

Okay go ahead post a youtube video... Boost it with retention views. Show us your results lol...

Never said its one thing, but it starts with having a hight CTR. So stop putting words in my mouth.

Total time spent on channel per user also seems to matter

what if you very high ctr because of clickbait title and thumbnail, but very low retention? will it rank
