I know that this may sound a bit hasty or harsh, but hear me out.

As I understand it, a shitlist starts a long time before it's published on the forum. When all the evidence is being collected and an effort to solve it behind closed doors is being made. When a shitlist post is up, It's already after the seller (or a buyer) is already aware of it and chose not to cooperate.

What I think should happen is:
BST locked with some sort of warning stating that there's a shitlist in process.
If it's a buyer, restriction to the shitlist and a rank should be changed to shitlist in process or something similar.
This is to fight some users' effort to try and cash out before they're gone for good.

Mods already keep an eye out for this. If the shitlisted user is seen as being active in other than the SL thread, they’re called out almost instantly and sometimes it even results in a temp ban. As for sales threads being closed temporarily, I’ve seen mods post an announcement on their sales threads and at times even lock it. It all comes down to discretion.

Sound a lot like something that can be automated by restriction.

I agree with this one.

I think once the user is Shitlisted, their "Website" and signature gets linked to the Shitlist thread? Aswell as comment being posted to their Sales thread that they are shitlisted? Does that happen before the SL thread is public or after?

Anyway i think the shitlisted member should not be allowed to continue selling anything untill the SL is resolved. That means they should only be allowed to PM Staff and the member who shitlisted them. Their Sales thread should also be privated - not be seen by potential buyers.

Example:

this user still has his Sales threads open: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/scamed-by-tinyoctopus-100.1393081/
this one too: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/audiencegain-net-audiencegain-scamming.1390253/

Seeing it earlier actually made me post this suggestion, but I figured I won't call them out because there's a high chance that this conversation was with a mod.

Or offering services to another member? Who knows?

I'd have thought his priority would be to answer on the SL as required though.

That is a little hard to automate as the majority of the SL threads are dealt with via PMs before they go live so there is a lot of gray areas that we cover in there.

He was not selling in there but that was not appropriate as he has not handled things as he is required.

This will not end well for him I am sure.

By automating it I meant restricting them to be able to access just the SL thread.

The rule is in place that they cannot do anything on the forum other than deal with a SL issue once the SL thread goes live.

If you do not respond within 24 hours or we note that you're engaging in any other activities on the forum rather than dealing with this dispute, the decision will be made in favour of the Shit Lister and you will be permanently banned from Black Hat World.

We do monitor their activity in the process as well.

We do that in some instances where the accused is not being cooperative.

He is only temp banned which is why his is still live.

Just cleaned that one up.

I've talked to an Admin about this and I do not know if the resources to put that in place make that a reasonable request considering I have very little issues when it comes to an accused member going against this, "we note that you're engaging in any other activities on the forum rather than dealing with this dispute, the decision will be made in favour of the Shit Lister and you will be permanently banned from Black Hat World."

The 24 hour rule to respond is not always pushed on a member as many are not here every day so I do allow a little latitude there.

At this time we are not looking into doing this as the issue is fairly minor compared to the number of issues but if that changes we will have a deeper look.

Thanks for the suggestion and all the comments you all have shared in here.
