Update

I was out all-day so I didn't get anything done apart from checking earnings and keyword stats on ahrefs.

And my site is still bleeding red and dropping keywords. The thing is most of them seem like duplicate keywords that my table of content #Title_description was ranking for but they are still dropping every day.

It's really hard to work on something that you have no guarantee will work. It's not even like the typical case where you know that if you do the right things you'll see results after 6-8 months.

But I'll just block out the disappointment and keep fixing then move on.

I'm not in the US, I'm actually in a country that 1 USD is equivalent to $154 so for me, it's good money just the same.

Most doctors and CEOs don't make as much as I do. The only job that might be making the same or more are politicians.

So I've got no complaints about making this amount every day. But there's just something about making a certain amount a few times doing nothing that when you see smaller figures it hurts.

I got to a point where when I talk to my peers IRL and they mention that $50USD is a lot of money I'm like "What? That's not even worth mentioning."

Or I could spend on whatever I feel like without it affecting me in any way.

It's to the point where I couldn't spend the money I make in a single month normally if I live as lavish as I wanted to with things "I like."

But I'm not fussy so I only buy food and stay at home grinding on my sites or sleeping. The bottom line.. $500/day is better than $200 but at the same time, $100 is better than $10.

I'm intending to do about 80 short articles sometime in August for this site as a test to boost ad revenue. But so far I don't have any short articles below 1000 words. The shortest I've found is 1011 words and that was a review ranking #1 before the update now its #7.

I wanted to write that I'm nobody special and that anyone can do it. But I've always been blessed to succeed at almost everything I've done, I've always excelled in school, work, and play. And most importantly I've always done whatever it took to achieve the things I set out to achieve. So I can't say I'm just like most of you cause I really don't think I am.

What I can say though is that I started off just like most of you with ZERO knowledge of building an affiliate site. To this point, I've been gathering knowledge of marketing, PPC, dropshipping, website design, and content writing since 2011.

It took from 2018 till now to make it to where I am with SEO and that took lots of dedication and time. I was inspired by Authority Hackers and Tung Tran and his thankyourskin site. I also thought I'd "make it" but the reality was far from that as my first attempt failed.

But I analyzed my failure and went at it again and saw some success over time.

Most other successful journeys you read are often by people that have done a lot of work for years behind the scenes before they got to where they are now.

There are a few lucky ones that make bank on their first try. But chances are that you won't be you. So you should always put yourself in the camp of the regular people that will need to put in the time and effort to succeed.

It's not a sprint, it's a marathon. Some of the millions of people trying will stop and if you keep walking along you'll pass them as I did.
And the successful ones will get lazy and stop working as hard because they think their money and site will last forever but nothing lasts forever.

So you'll also pass them at some point if you keep at it. The only thing that's sure is that the harder you work in the right direction and the longer you stick to it the more certain it is that you'll succeed.

Update

I'm just gonna make this update a quick summary of the month instead of a whole article.

Thoughts for June:

• Looking over some of my product reviews I see where they are either fine in comparison to what's ranking while others could take a complete rewrite.
• I figured out why my main site was dropping keywords so fast. I removed the H3s from my table of content plugging.
• New content might be better than trying to fix old ones.
• If the site doesn't see recovery and keeps declining, I'll buy a new domain and redirect all the content on this one to the new domain.
  • I like the niche and I see where I can make good money from it. So I might as well fix the issue I had with the domain name since I can no longer sell it. But this is only if the traffic keeps tanking
• I thought I fixed the CWV scores on the main site but so far it's only good on desktop. I can't get good CLS scores on mobile using Astra+Thrive+Mediavine Ads.
• My second site is fully green on both desktop and mobile using astra+thrive so the only difference is the Ads. Same hosting, layout, and everything.
• I'm very interested in building a new site at the end of the month.
• My second site needs about 150 info articles.
• Wrote 56 new articles for the main site which totals about 90k words. Only half are uploaded and indexed. I'm getting the others edited and will upload 3 per day going forward.

Still frustrates me that the main site went down. But I'm glad that I spent the time and effort on the second site otherwise I'd only make $1k+ this month.

Great growth. I'm sure I can take this site to $15k but I'd only do it if I can manage to get a few more sites going. However, since it's an affiliate site mostly right now and the niche is kinda YMYL I feel like I might get rid of it just to build more capital.

You will be able to afford eating at restaurants 3 times a day, rent a fancy apartment and $2K in savings per month if you earn $5K. If you wanna buy a new computer or phone, you will spend all $5K in a month. Right now, I highly doubt that there is any place in the developed world where $5K would be considered a lot. Yes, you can afford a normal life, but you won't be considered rich. Even in Eastern Europe.

What are the benefits of redirecting the old domain to a new one? I'm thinking on doing it.

I built my site on an expired domain which limited my ability to build it as a brand for myself or get accepted into some of the top affiliate networks in my niche because it's considered Cyber Squatting to an extent.

So in the case where traffic keeps declining and I have a site that replaced the income on this one I'd lose nothing to build a branded domain in this niche since it's so profitable.

Furthermore, once googles algorithm deems your site a bad fit there's little you can do to get back in their good graces but to wait for a new core algorithm update, and even in such a case, nothing might change. Sometimes, you can see upticks 8 months later or a year later but often you won't recover to the same degree.

I've edited a bunch of my old articles about 20 last month and so far only the initial 2 I edited in May saw any upward movements. New buyer guides I post on the site aren't going anywhere, while new buyer guides posted within the same time frame on my second and third website keeps going up. So there's some limit placed on the domain.

And I've yet to see or hear from anyone that has recovered their site from the product reviews update. (So much for the periodic refresh that might be once a year or every 6 months.)

If you build a brand new site, it's likely to rank within 8 months and surpass the current stats you have for your penalized site before a new update comes around which you have no guarantee will work in your favor.

So you might as well start afresh following their guidelines on a new site with the old edited content and a lot more new info content.

In my case, I'll start a new domain and focus on writing mostly info articles within the niche slowly. After I build enough info articles then I might rewrite the top articles on my penalized site and see if they rank.

Then if the old site gets to a point where I feel like it's hopeless I'll likely redirect it to the new domain. Or redirect it to a separate domain so I'd have two sites in the niche with one being a brand new clean domain and another being a new + redirected domain.

Few questions:

215 posts is a lot and it'll take you about 4 days to complete so many if you focus on just that.

To optimize an article with SurferSEO sometimes require adding over 2k words. Do you focus on adding more words and points as Surfer says, or do you have any other method to optimize faster?

At most I've only bought 12 niche edit links.

By niche edits, do you mean the webmaster to edit their article and add a do-follow link to your relevant article?

Update - End of July

Very lazy update, I was busy all month with my 9-5, traveling, and my sites so there were no daily updates. I also just came back home from a 6-hour drive and I'm dead tired.

Earnings For July:

Total Earnings: $5,838

Finally, I saw an uptick in traffic and improvements in keywords for the site that got hit in April. I spent the last three months writing new articles for this site and felt like I wasted my time but I guess after a while they'll start ranking and at least give me some Ad income.

Is it all from google or some from Pinterest and elsewhere?

what advice would you give me starting out I have no problem whipping out a ton of articles on any topic.

ijust wrote a 4000 word article but realized it’s the wrong niche nobody has money in music production lol.

would you say just pick a niche start writing article after article and then make a few sub sites to build authority?

Meh. Invest that for a few years and you’ll never worry about money again if you do it right. Just live off profits with $100,000 once you get good at investing and keep it going. It’s really nice money.
