Having a normal 9 to 5 job and career gives you more money than internet marketing. We would be all better off in a traditional corporate career but if only we were positive about working a real job. Instead most of us dream about bullshit internet monies. Let’s face it in order to make it in seo it would take you like 5-10 years just to make like $2,000 per month and it can be suddenly gone with any random google update. We have no moat against because g corporations that can hire talented writers and buy powerful backlinks. Seo is saturated and paid traffic even more. The time and money invested in seo or paid traffic would be better spent on a college education and a good masters degree. The corporate world gives you better salary, incentives, health insurance and job security. If you earn $60,000 per year and work a couple of years, you are guaranteed a higher salary afterwards. In affiliate marketing you work your ass off for little money and then it gets taken away with a google update. So you start from zero again. Paid traffic with Facebook, Google, Pop Traffic or others is saturated as fuck. Most successful internet marketers have given up on paid traffic so we noobies have no chance. Even an offline business like consulting gives more money and peace of mind.

I personally have a part time job, which gives me the time for IM and also pays my bills, at the end of the day it's always about making things that you enjoy and some jobs can be cool and give you security I agree...

My dad has a saying: We can't all be CEOs.. Some of us will have to push the shovel. So if you don't feel like working outside a 9-5 job, then go on the career path. I have done both and I`m not talking about a McDonalds job, but something that brought a lot of satisfaction. I still ended up going for IM and I am making a lot more than the government was paying me.

And i don't agree with you, IMers can make weekly what those corporate slaves make in a year, but you gotta provide something of value. It's a personal choice. I had the opportunity to take my chances and create my own online business and I like working independently + maximizing my creativity and work ethics by applying them to business.

It shouldn't take 5-10 years to get to $2,000 a month. Straight to the point: You're not made for this - you don't have the required capabilities or your living situation is very infortunate - and it's ok, do whatever you think is best for your life long-term. Realistically speaking, if you don't make over $50k a year after expenses then it's not going to be sustainable over-time for you to live on that. So you can't ever get comfortable and you need a roadmap to scale your business.

There's a risk but there's also a reward if you pull it off. It's easier than ever to make money online.
